Yesterday, I was checking some past NNNN.com sales at Namebio.com. To my surprise, I found out that 1018.com sold for $2000 in March 2018! Most probably, I guess this is some kind of an error. However, if it is true, then the buyer got one heck of a deal.

DNJournal.com also reported it

Previously, this domain name sold for $5050 in 2008 at Namejet.

The comps though.....

1001.com 100,000 USD 2013-12-03 Sedo
1003.com 45,000 USD 2017-06-04 Sharjil Saleem / Sanwal Memon
1085.com 18,200 USD 2015-05-28 NameJet
1035.com 18,020 USD 2015-04-23 NameJet
1095.com 17,566 USD 2015-06-24 Flippa
1005.com 15,000 USD 2015-02-08 Uniregistry

It has two 1's and ends in 8 it so I actually would value this in the high $xx,xxx+ range. Wouldn't be surprised if it sells to a Chinese buyer for $75k+.

What is wrong with you?
I beg your pardon? I just agreed with "Thats a steal" assertion by @slader23 and pointed out that such "steals" do take place from time to time at Sedo - referred to another dirt cheap acquisition that I've noticed at NameBio at some point. So what could be wrong with me, could you elaborate please?

Yes, they happen at Sedo from time to time, I don't know how.
How do you like this one?
I don't know about 1018.com but i really doubt brandexpert.com sold for 121. it is owned by someone on this board and whois never changed.

That's a matter of the reported sales data quality then. I guess only Sedo staff can confirm or deny such sales in general. However, I assume that such bargain sales could be possible when some non-experienced owner is listing a domain at the marketplace, or maybe just erroneously putting it with a low BIN - and someone is quick enough to snatch it (yet the owner is still to honor the deal, which is not always the case).

The domain that shows on NameBio is actually 01018.com, I do not see 1018.com.

DN Journal still shows 1018.com though.

Nevermind.
Thanks for shedding the light @Dave.
So the '0' was lost... Then I guess that was thebestbrandexpert.com sold for 121 accordingly...
(However, "steals" still do happen :) )

It was 1018.com. They changed it now.

Cached version.

The link you gave goes to the sale of BrandExpert/Com ......no point comparing a word domain against a numeric domain?

We got the actual sale 01018.com correctly when we imported Sedo's weekly report, they reported it correctly from the start. We also grabbed 1018.com from DNJournal and missed removing it, usually I catch it when Ron accidentally drops the leading zero (probably an Excel thing) or makes a typo. Sedo noticed and asked us to remove it, and I told them to let Ron know as well. So all should be well now.
