We know crypto/blockchain is hot right now but I'll be honest this does not motivate me to register/purchase a bunch of crypto/blockchain/hyphenated names.
I own a few crypto/blockchain names already and the market is flooded with them. If blockchain wasn't as hot this would've been considered a crap name.

But I'll be honest what it does motivate me to do is to be on the look out for the next future trends/niches/products/services to be able to pick the best names possible before they are all gone.

So yes OP, I did get a little motivation out of a $1,000,000 sale.

You buy the right domain at the right price and you get the right buyer you can sell it in the seven-figure category you're definitely going to have to spend some real money to acquire the domain name to sell for 7 figures

This made me laugh...only because it has happened to me a few times before (just not for 7 figures).

that statement is right, base on your country currency, I have made a million plus selling just one domain, and this statement has been q motivation to my person because I know I will make millions selling domain....in case you are surprise I am a Nigerian

The registrars and domain auction platforms want you to believe that all you have to do is keep buying domain names and eventually you will become rich. Hmmm. How many pure domain investors who started in the last ten years qualify?

Let's tone down the delusion. You aren't going to get $1m for a domain unless you demand it. And if you demand that out of your domains you will in 99.99999% certainty have wasted every dollar and hour you've spent in dominating.

I would rather sell 1000 domains for 10k and silently do whatever I want, then be known for selling million dollar domains.

it's not necessarily about the millions. It's about never ever giving up. At least that's the way I read it.

I have been having this constant visitor from China on one of my domain name landing page with less than 60% bounce rate. maybe I should set 1m BIN and make this a reality.
