Just so I'm clear. What's right of the dot works well with what's left of the dot. It doesn't mean I love the extension in general

I sure did Not think that you loved the .guru extension.
Reading your post here on NP, it's clear that you're not a new gTLD fan.
That's why I think the comments in your review were Interesting & your appraisal of no less than 5K surprising !

I'm not the type of person that makes everything either black or white... Just because I'm not a huge fan of New G's, it doesn't mean that they are all garbage. Some of them have some decent resell value. IMO Canna.Guru is decent.

If I was consulting the buyer, I would say they needed to acquire the .com as well though.

Two of the factors involved in me picking up canna.guru were:

- Canna and guru go together. It is 'hip' as you rightly suggested.
- The .com is owned by Momentum Technologies LLC. I don't think it used to be, so it must've sold to this end user. I don't know what their plans are for it but I doubt they would sell it for cheap. I tried emailing them to see if I could pick it up but had no joy.

I see. Great insight.

Always good to know the outlook on a competing domain... Maybe I'll do a vlog about that.

If you own the .IO for example, but know the .com owner is completely opposed to selling then your .IO just increased in value by at least a few multiples.

Like I said. I'd probably be looking for around 5K. What's yours?

My point being, if the .com is unavailable, potential buyers will of course look elsewhere.

I rarely buy other tlds (outside of .com or .co.uk) unless I think there is a good chance the above is true. I never buy other tlds if the .com is publicly for sale or unless I already own the .com.

This is why I also picked up bitsoft.io, I doubt the .com will ever be available for sale (since it is a business) unless for obscene money. Because crypto or bitcoin go well with .io it felt like a no brainer.

I gravitate towards value... If the value shifts to G's then I'll be there.

It is as you said, new gtld's work best when what is to the left flows with the right. Examples would be business/loans, send/money, save/money, the/news and so on. In my opinion those type of domains will have value now and in the near future.

I don't think very highly of .guru , but agree that if the right and left are a good match even the crappiest extensions can have some value.
I don't own any .guru but I do own some other questionable extensions like .dog

Maybe not. I was the highest bidder a NamesCon for Business.Loans but missed reserve by just 1k- There are far bigger skeptics than me

Hey great video man, they sound genuine compared to the normal domaining videos which are full of promotions
