Keep my fingers crossed! .Company is very nice extension in my opinion, I have few in my portfolio as well.

But imo think twice before you publish any further details in public - I can think of 100 reasons why it is better to keep similar negotiations strictly private, mainly also from buyer's perspective. I guess it is safer for your transaction that only after you agree on sale, you can (or even not, depends also on the buyer) to decide whether to share anything in public :)

The CEO gave up on .McDonalds and .MCD so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on M.company

Good luck, I can't see the CEO being involved with such random domain matters, but hope you get it done.

I think he just wanted to promote his company.,...thus the long MCD thing....
After he made sure he had a live link to his company.

This photo for you my friend ,so i think now it clear for you i really receive email from them.
I'm thankful God i have visitors every day without post.
In my case those companies need that single .company so i'm fine if they don't buy it there's many of companies they will for sure that what i believer . :)

That actually looks like a rejection letter to me, that they were nicely brushing you off, looks a bit like a template response.

The part "address any needs" What possible needs could this possibly address? I've never heard of McDonald's being referred to as M Company. I've heard McDonald's, Mickey D's, Golden Arches, but not M Company. Again what needs do you think this domain will help them with?

Here is another thing, their valuation, and your expected valuation will probably be the reason a deal is never done.

Steve Easterbrook became CEO, succeeding Don Thompson, who stepped down on January 28, 2015.

Do not see his name at all on this email....

Although .company is clearly one of the longer TLDs, it has the advantage of being a highly popular, economical term - so the right character(s) before the dot can lead to profitable sales.
With 1 letter - domains you won't have a hard play anywayyy
If "McDonalds" won't buy it, then most likely another "M..." - company will buy it.

I would say this difference is generallyyy the reason #1 for non - happened sales.
But of course it's never too late to negotiate.

Ask whatever company has the single letter M as an NYSE ticker symbol

I wish OP the most success but agree the email is definitely a rejection letter.

My worry would be that they probably have a thousand trademarks on that letter M.
