Pheenix domains being moved to Encirca

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Just received this, which is not pleasant at all. Years ago I used encirca and it sucked. Not sure whether they have improved or not. Anyone familiar with them at this time?

Welcome to EnCirca!

EnCirca (www.encirca.com) was selected by ICANN to manage the bulk transfer of domain names from 49 Pheenix-related registrars recently terminated by ICANN. EnCirca was founded in 2001 and is based outside of Boston, Massachusetts USA.

Here is what to expect as we transfer over your domain names from Pheenix to EnCirca:

Next week the account owner will receive a second Welcome email from EnCirca with their account details.

The new EnCirca account will be based on the “true” email in the Registrant or Admin Whois contact that existed at the Pheenix registrar. If you were previously using a Whois privacy service at Pheenix, please note that this service is not carried over to EnCirca and the underlying data will be displayed in the Whois instead.

You will also receive a “verification” email as part of the new account creation process asking you to review and correct any inaccurate Whois data. You must update any inaccurate data and acknowledge this email or you may lose access to your domains.

It may take some time before you have the ability to make updates to some of your domains, due to the large number of Registrars involved in this bulk transfer. We appreciate your patience while we work through this process.

We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship!

Thank you,
EnCirca Support

But no other way...
If no AUTH codes from their system - then only Support.

I have money on my balance there, I guess 80 USD => Can I get the money refunded.?
(I put the money there when their catchpricing was very low about a year ago, but then they raised catching from 15 to 60 or so) and i lost my intrest of course.

Did you have to wait 6 days or were they moved immediately?
As I recall - it depends on TLD...
For example, if .PRO - Pheenix doesn't release it immediately.

Ok, I transferred out most of my domains.
4 domains could not get transferred because the auth codes did not work at all.
I even requested new ones and they didn't work either so I have a support ticket out.
We will see what happens.

What happened to Pheenix. Did they go bankrupt? Down-sizing? The writing was on the wall after they got rid of all those new Registrars. I guess it must have been their systems which couldn't compete with DropCatch? Pity really.

>:( I wish I would have seen this post earlier. Damn, now one of my domains is stuck at EnCirca and they will NOT remove the 60 day lock for transfer.

They e-mailed me telling me that they were taking control of one name of mine, which had already passed its expiration date. So I don't plan to even log in to get my password.

Hey everyone.

I'm from EnCirca.

EnCirca realizes how disruptive it can be when ICANN terminates registrars. The ICANN bulk transfer process can be messy, especially when the data escrow data is incomplete. We are still trying to track down some registrants that were using whois privacy. There are domains from 49 Pheenix registrars involved here.

Per ICANN policy, all transfers are locked for 60 days. For most, this means July 18 will be the earliest you will be able to transfer out.

11 days ago 4 of my domains were transferred from Pheenix but 1 has yet to show up in my account. I spoke to support 3 times so far and they said when these domains were transferred but there is no customer data, they weren't allocated on any accounts. They are waiting for the registry to provide them. In the meantime, they are keeping them in a special holding account with no ETA on resolving this issue.
This is very frustrating.

It has now been 22 days and EnCirca will still not give me my domain.
I have sent proof but they now are wanting me to send over my ID.
I have an account with them with 3 of my domains in it with all my info that Pheenix sent them.
I have been extremely patient but this is getting to be too much.

Tom @encirca can you Please look into this for me?

I have had a horrible experience with Encirca. Glad only 2 names were transferred. Unfortunately, both were due for renewal within the 60 day transfer lock and their renewal prices are poor.

What the hell is wrong with you site encirca?!

so many login issues and now my password doesn't work... trying to reset it but I get an 'internal server error - no available connections' (wth is that?) and, of course, it's the weekend where you probably are not in the office.

Pheenix were being really funny when they moved all our domains to these guys.

Pheenix are funny in many things, but in this particular case i think it was a funny choice of ICANN.

I hoped that i had read this thread earlier. I lost my domain. My domain was expidred at Pheenix on May 1. I had paid on May 12, and confirmed by Pheenix. I also see in Pheenix Control Panel that it was already renewed. I never knew this change (Pheenix to Encirca) . Yesterday , i was surprised that my domain was no longer in Pheenix, and after going through emails , i see several mails from Encirca that my domain is expired. I am trying to restore the domain in Encirca , yet to see what is the result.
