What's your 2nd favorite extension after .COM. Mine is .CO

I would like to add that I haven't had any success with selling anything other than .COM. So you 2nd favorite extension doesn't necessarily mean having commercial success.

Why do I like .CO? It's clean and tidy and 1 char shorter than .COM :)

My second choice is now .IO and more businesses are preferring ,IO because in .CO they are afraid that if customer enter M in the end by mistake they will go to there competitor website so i go with .IO

If its for non profit use, then .org. If its regional business then for me its .ca.

For tally purposes id say .ca

Wow, those old requirements were removed a long time ago, making .NET and .ORG the exact same as .COM.

Right here:

If its for non profit use, then .org

.ORG has not meant exclusively non-profit in a long time. In fact, lots of non-profits use .COM and other new gTLDs. i.e. there is no such thing as a non-profit gTLD anymore.

First of all, I had no idea .org use to have requirements. Second, I know .org has and always will have a non profit brand image attached to it.

Therefore "if" I was starting a non profit site then I'd go with .org. That's my opinion.

and "if" I go regional being a Canadian I'd go with .ca.

Now, it seems you're upset as you're way over analyzing my comment and went into .org protector mode! So, if you're trying to rebrand .org start saving your money because it will take hundreds of millions if not billions to rebrand away from a non profit brand image. By that time all the other gTLDs will have taken shape and .org will become a dusty old extension dreaming of the day it was third wheel to .com and .net.

Just my 0.02$

All the best!

Back to everyone's fave 2nd .extension :)

That would be great advice... if it was still 1998. :-P

I don't run an .ORG, but lots of businesses do (included a few domain brokers and marketplaces) and they seem to be doing just fine, and I highly doubt they spent a spare billion dollars on rebranding.

Trust me, 95% of current Internet users don't give a crap about the ancient .ORG requirement, and in another 10 years, that number will be 99%. That's why .ORG is selling so well in the afternarket, it's an old and established gTLD yet still relatively undeveloped.

Damn, I thought you'd at least use an Old Man GIF with you telling those pesky kid domainers to "Get off the .ORG lawn!!"
