First of all, I'm glad I stumbled upon this forum. So much info being passed around that I spent hours just reading all the threads.

I wanted to share with you the email that I received last night. At first I was excited of course, but then the sceptic side of me decided to google this and confirmed it was a scam. I saw many posts on here with similar info but referred to certificates. Maybe the body of the email has changed, but seems to still be a scam.

By the way, I was offered 10 BTC

Hello! ([email protected])

Hi Linda!

Welcome friend! Yes, looks to be a scam appraisal offer.

Best of luck domaining!

Hi Linda, welcome to namepros.

I'm a complete newcomer so disregard me entirely, but that body text doesn't seem to mention anything about getting it appraised or the need of a certificate. Chances are the next email will ask for this but this first one seems like it is saying they are working on behalf of someone. Also the email address domain is showing a fairly slick website.

Welcome, and yep...sometimes you have to be extra careful with some of the "offers" you may receive. I've gotten a handful like that, as well.

Hello @Linda Mans .. and welcome to namepros! :)

Sounds like it's likely an appraisal scam .. but who knows .. there are plenty of Bitcoin millionaires out there with money to waste. Based on the amount offered for the domain it's almost 100% it's a scam .. but doesn't hurt to continue communicating until it's clearer. Just be sure not to transfer your domain without going through escrow .. or until the bitcoins in question are irreversibly secured.

Best of luck going forward :)

Welcome to NP
EtherZero (ETZ) is a company officially registered in Singapore. I do not know if they have a representation in Korea. But this is rather strange. They have the domain etherzero.org. Not com. Crypto currency EtherZero is a crypto currency created as a result of the Ethereum fork, which has a number of distinctive features from its donor. The network split occurred on January 20, 2018 at 4,936,270 iof bloc. Who is behind the maintenance of the work of the ETZ network is not yet clear, because on the official site Ethereum.org there was no information about this event, and representatives of Metamask called the site EtherZero phishing, i.e. fraudulent. But there is no exact information

Hi Linda! Welcome to NP!!

I received a similar email way back for a random domain in my portfolio. Got really excited but then realised that the offer was too good to be true for a random name (offered me $40k for it). The guy claimed he was from Japan and even had an email add with a similar address to a legit company LOL.

Good luck domaining!
