Firstly thanks for this wonderful resource. Having a quick look through the forums, you all conduct yourselves with honour and compassion to help grow the domain name industry and the standards it should uphold.

So onto a quick intro.

Matt, based within the UK.
Been buying, but never selling domains for 10 years plus, but with commitments building up and time getting smaller, I've been looking high and low to gain additional knowledge to offload some of my hoards.

As well as running a few physical companies, I also run online businesses and tend to buy a domain name(s) when an idea hits me. Most of them don't get past the idea stage and the domains just expire. But once in a while, I keep some that I hope I'll get time to do something with.

I hope any questions I ask on the forum are clear and hopefully explain my quandary. If not, please let me know and I'll happily address what though good in my head, to what I actually wanted to get across.

I think many of us can relate to getting these ideas popping into our heads, starting a project and just never end up finishing it.

Hi Matt .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

I think your introduction into domains represents a lot of us who originally bought domains long ago with the intention of buildup .. but then never had the time for most or all of them! How many domains have you held onto over the years?

Best of luck to you going forward! :)

Hi Ategy,

Overall I would say in the multiple hundreds over the years. Lost some, brought them back and a vast majority just expired to go to pastures new.

At this moment, I would say I've around the low hundred mark and generally try and pick up a couple a month, or if I have an idea that I think is worth exploring, I'll buy up .com / .co.uk and other relevant domains to match what I think is a good fit. If the idea doesn't work, then they will either be kept as a "just in case" or expire at renewal.

Welcome Matt. Do you tend to buy co.uk domains more than .com or others?

Hi @Pierre Barnard . I tend to go with .com as the first port of call and if I can't get my first choice, I look for alternatives that could fit. I grab .co.uk ones only for the companion of the .com or as a personal/fun domain that I don't mind holding onto.

Why not post-up a couple of your better names (or those you think are)
none of us bite. The worst case scenario is absolutely NO responses.

It's a lovely part of the English heritage, when in doubt - Ignore
