As far as misrepresenting a sale goes, I would like to see op chime back and explain things before I pass judgement. I cannot tell you how many times I see L I accidental misspells on forums.

So,
- this thread doesn't prove that IOT domains sell or don't sell. In fact the domain is not even connected to IOT.
- This thread shows how most of us here are easily mislead by a $30K sale of nothing. Was the screenshot even real?
- This thread & threads like these is the problem - spreading misleading information, providing fake sales data - is doing more harm than good to the community.

What trend this sale ended in lot not iot. Escrow.com shows every letter in lower case. So this was an l not an i.

Did the domain name end in iot or Lot?

If it indeed end in iot -

In performing some research I do not see a 9 letter eiot.com that you have ever owned. I do see an 8 letter that matches the criteria, though. I notice that you only have 8 stars as well in your original post. Was it 8 letters or 9?

I will not out what the 8 letter domain is that you own, but I do see it is still in your name at this time and being offered for sale.

I apologize if this is a legit sale... I just question everything. Any verification you can provide would be appreciated.

You don't know Michael, looking at the two sales threads in op's sig line, names all have different owners, when you look at whois, now if someone is brokering names that's supposed to be noted in the sales listing.

I don't think NP is a platform of heresay or hypocrisy. I found most of the threads are clear, open and upto point.....People take lots of effort in creating a valuable resource by investigating, analyzing and advising
during their valuable time spent here......Once in a while we get such threads where we are reminded that this is an open forum and we are bound to get information of all kinds....But I am rest assured that even a cynical post is paid lots of attention and people try to invest their time in getting into a better information resource......like we see here...Kudos for NPs for making this forum a great source material for Domaining and a great experience....

Very true... I can't be sure. That's why I was asking for clarification on the length as well.

I just noticed the length of 8 in the original post and that a name that I kept seeing in the whois under their for sale list owned an 8 letter + iot domain that ended in eiot.

A 5 digit sale of a domain name is a great moment to cherish. Other domainers are happy too as, it helps them in tracking the trend in the market and set expectations.

If one is faking it, not only are you indulging in cheap thrills but ,inviting the disappointment of your fellow domainers.

I do not believe we are being told the truth.The screenshot clearly shows elot not IOT. It’s an L not an I. Big difference between the two both in capital and lowercase letters.

When you have an NDA you don’t post about it. When you have nothing to hide you don’t confuse elot with iot. Op posted internet of things so no typo.

This is either fake reporting or he didn’t want us to figure out it ended in elot not iot. Either way it’s deception.
