Following Saturday's news of @Telepathy selling the domain OB.com to China, we can bring you the news that JL.com has now been sold to what looks like a Chinese domain investor. The domain was previously owned by Janet Levinger, a social impact leader in the Seattle area. Janet used JL.com to host her personal website.
According to DomainIQ's WHOIS tool, the domain moved to a new Chinese registrant very recently with successful domain broker George Hong's @GUTA organization listed in the WHOIS email address.
This valuable two-letter .COM was featured in the @MediaOptions newsletter several times last year and as of writing, the name was listed on the Media Options website with an asking price of $1.49 million. Based on the asking price, could this be another seven-figure sale of a two-letter .COM?
According to NameBio, there has only been one publicly-disclosed sale of a two-letter .COM this year, which is James Booth's (@BoothDomains) sale of FO.com for $510,000. Judging by previous sales of two-letter "Chip" domains to China, a high six or low seven-figure fee is entirely possible.
