To me anything over 4 numbers seems excessive even in .com extension. My question is and I'd like the education so I'm asking it is, Why do people like 6-number domains names? What are the valid reasons for preferring a 6-number domain over something easy to remember?

I believe easy to remember is the most important reason. An ordinary random 5N.com without 0 and 4 is worth more than $1000 now, while acturally, don't you think that, an AAA start/end 6N.com is easier to remember than a random 5N.com? That's why they may worth more than $1000.

Why do people like 6-number domain names?
In the case of .com and other three-letter domain extensions, 6-number domains are the same length (including the dot and extension) as phone numbers in the United States:
