The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You can read the forum rules or a moderator can tells us both but when I bump a thread I wait 24 hours before I do it.

EDIT:

1.25 You may only bump your thread with a new message (e.g., status update) once per 12 hours unless it's within a forum with an exception.

Appraisal
5.2 You may only bump your thread with a new message (e.g., status update) once per 12 hours unless otherwise stated in the forum section.

Sounds good. But I saw people bumping threads every 2-6 hours. See https://www.namepros.com/threads/moneybag-xyz-potential-end-users-powerful-2-word-name.1060379/

I can understand that one can bump every 12 hours.

What if someone bids 7-8 hours after i bump? Can I bump again? Since it isn't 12 hours yet but a new post has appeared in the sale thread.

Technically, our software won't stop it automatically in that case, but it is against the rules:
  • Rule 6.1.26. You may only bump your marketplace threads with a new message (e.g., status update) once per 12 hours unless it's within a forum with an exception. You may bump in Free Domain Names every 6 hours.

If caught, an infraction would be issued for early bumping and access to the marketplace may be revoked.

Looks like bump time rules have been taken out. I don't see anything there.. I reported one guy bump every 6-9 hours and got below message from staff.

So how long do we have to wait for bumps now?

That quote is no longer applicable because the bump system has been updated since then. However, noncontributory bumps are still not allowed in discussion threads unless staff does them.

So how long do we have to wait for bumps now?
Here's all the information:
We will be making another update to the bump system soon that will once again change its behavior. Stay tuned. :)
