information Did Estibot buy Valuate.com?

I am not sure if there's another post here discussing the matter, but I see that Valuate.com now redirects to Estibot.com. I wonder if the name, previously owned by Francois Carrillo, was sold to Estibot.

Reading your post got me curious and I found this old thread, it seems at that point they were not owned by the same people. Might be different now but I tried looking up information on clearbit and I did get the information on the CEO of estibot - Luc Lezon but when I put Valuate nothing came up.

I know Valuate got sold once already, as my account was toasted in the transition and I just moved on, and the latest Estibot deal was probably the previous buyer not being able to make squat. Hot Potato anyone?

Hi Guys,

EstiBot here. Nope, we didn't buy valuate... Francois is forwarding the domain to us. As to accounts getting toasted/hot potato... as far as I know Francois originally bought the domain about a decade ago and has been operating it since, it never changed hands.

Francois is a long time partner for us. I believe he is still operating the appraisal system under domaining.com.

Poor choice of words on my part, and I meant that when I first joined up, it was located at Valuate.com and was a site unto itself, like Estibot. Then it moved to a subsection of Domaining.com (and where my account got toasted) and I could never get it to work. Now it's being forwarded to Estibot, and while none of those moves may technically be a "sale", it's still being passed around a lot.

On another note, Sedo says NameBio is for sale :D

There is so much scamming on Sedo it's not funny.

Lots of 3rd-world morons mass-listing thousands of sites hoping to get a huge offer and then hit up the real owner with a lowball, thereby making a pile of cash as the unknown middleman. Must work too, as fake listing business is booming.

Maybe the old Valuate.com website stopped working after Estibot.com updated their website? And haven't had any desire to upgrade. Hence forwarded to Estibot.com

Last week or the week before that, I read that Domaining.com is shutting down their domain valuation tool because it only gets 3 appraisal requests per day. :xf.frown: After learning that, I visited valuate.com and saw the redirect, too.

I forget where I read it, but I'd venture it was on Domaining.com or in a NamePros thread.

Hey this is a Google chrome email plugin you can install for free. Just type - clearbit plugin for chrome on Google and should come up. Let me know if you are able to get it or need further help.

How is that possible? I mean, doesn't Sedo verify the owner of each domain added on their platform?

Lots of 3rd-world morons ...

Very poor choice of words, morons are everywhere why single out 'third world'.
And what's '3rd world' in the present? Are you still living in the COLD-WAR era?

"The term "Third World" arose during the Cold War to define countries that remained non-aligned with either NATO or the Communist Bloc."

Very poor choice of words, Are you still living in the COLD-WAR era?.

The better question is: Are you? That meaning hasn't been in vogue in decades, and hopefully you also realize its current usage is different and refers to "developing nations" in Africa, South/Central America, etc.

What does 'Third World' mean

"Third World" is a phrase commonly used to describe a developing nation. Third World countries are largely characterized as poor and underdeveloped. In these countries, low levels of education, poor infrastructure, improper sanitation and poor access to health care mean living conditions are seen as inferior to those in the world's more developed nations. As a result, the terms Third World country and developing nation have become increasingly interchangeable in recent decades.

Despite its current usage, the phrase "Third World" arose during the Cold War to identify countries whose views did not align with NATO and capitalism or the Soviet Union and communism.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/t/third-world.asp

And the reason I use that term is that is where my accounts are consistently being hacked from, Morocco, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, etc. and this is verified.

Smaller entities they do, but these larger "whales" that have been on Sedo for years and have ten's of thousands of "domains" seem to get carte blanche to do anything.

Multiple times I have logged onto Sedo only to find my previously-verified domains are now the property of another account, and when I do some research it's always the same 2-3 fake accounts, usually from Morocco or Barbados. There is no possibility they could insert their code into my site's DNS, but Sedo just trusts them and auto-deletes my domains.

There is one guy on there from Barbados with half the .CAs in existence, including portfolios of some bigger outbound and aftermarket sites owners (who do not use auction sites).

Not surprising business would be way down for other services since the new 2018 Godaddy appraisal tool seems to be very good and with access to all the heavy GD traffic, and is FREE. It must be hard to compete against GD what with their size and market domination.
