as long there is a new startup, I am sure they buy domain!(90% fall) unless their CEO live in mountain, probably they don't need .website (ooops):xf.laugh:

at first they will buy cheap domain, but once they big, and use TV ads, I am sure, whether they like it or not, they must buy premium domain! otherwise their ads will cost them big money and less effective! but of course for blog or small business they dont need to buy a premium domain! :xf.grin: because they won't go that far!

I think brandable domain will go up trend!

11 votes UP 14 votes not UP in what seems like the most booming market of our time, seems like a good indicator we are in an inflated market. I have a question for those who voted UP. When do you think this bull run will end?

I also think we need to segment the market into those that are still going up, those that are stagnant, those which are going down, and those which have almost, or have practically, died.

The bull run never ends if:
  1. You have quality domains
  2. If they are priced at reasonable prices
Which means the Bull run is over for me.

The probability of an organization growing big from a bootstrap is always low and the re-seller supply is always huge

It's no less than a miracle that some people have made money in this space by crystal gazing. Deep respect:xf.smile::xf.cool:

Hmm...if it's only about 3L and 4L then it's tough road ahead for newbies like me, late in the game:xf.smile:

BTW:

Factually, yes. India is termed as a 3rd world country. However, people fail to understand that a 3rd world country can also be rich with many millionaires and billionaires:xf.grin:

It is a Cold War era term that the US alliance countries had given to the rest of the countries. So, the countries who didn't participate in the world wars or had very little to do with it were termed as 3rd world countries.
The modern terminology to term countries of the 21st century is the ‘developed’ or ‘developing’ countries.

I get an enormous amount of inquiries from Bangalore, Bangladesh, and other parts of India that I wake up to everyday, about 99% of those inquiries result in no sale, or insanely lowball offer, anytime an offer does seem decent, it is given in rupees, it is emerging for sure, but economies of scale are still not there.

I guess most would prefer to be sellers than buyers of domains:xf.grin:

You have to buy before you can sell.

As more people are gaining internet access and businesses are moving online, the competition and prices increase.

Like real estate, the value of quality domains is going up and will continue to go up, IMO.

You have to buy before you can sell.

Can't picture anyone paying crazy wholesale prices even if they can afford it.( Cause we convert dollars in rupees eg - its 10000 bucks for you, its 660,000 bucks for us:xf.grin:)..would prefer to hand reg or buy low i guess:xf.smile:

I wonder who told you that most startups in US spend more than 2k for a domain? As far as I know, 90% of them pay xxx or lower. There are, in average around 1500 startups born in US in any day, but still you can't see more than 50 domains sold at namebio in an average day for over 1k, so even if we double that amount we have less than 100 domains selling for over 1k and only around 30% of sales are going to US.
