Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Just received a offer for a vr domain. And it's not a adult one this time lol. I want $450 for it.. let's see how this will go. Domain sales are not my main income stream but everything adds up in the end.

I was a little to fast to lower my initial offer. It seems i have been contacted by a GoDaddy broker on behalf of a client. Normally this is a good indicator to squeeze some more money out of the deal. But i have bought another domain (cam domain with 150+ typeins a month) on Sedo yesterday so i am fine to break even. In the end it will be a good deal for me. But i know some people on this forum with a lot of more patient and skills that will definitely get more out of such a deal / situation.

Congrats on the sale. Care to say what the name was now, as it helps all of us value our names? I haven’t sold a VR name yet and my patience is wearing thin, but I haven’t really tried so far. Just started parking most of my other names on domain advertising and so far better than any other parking service I’ve tried.

I will report if or when i finished the sale. Good possibility for the sale to be successful because i am asking a low price. I have added another domain to the deal (set / combo) so the buyer is getting real value for money.

Like most users in this thread i have dropped a lot of low quality vr domains because sales are disappointing. User base is also behind earlier expectations. I personally only renewing vr domains with actual search volume. I think this is a good indicator for future value. You must ask yourself if nobody is searching for the keyword or combo in google at this moment in time then i would say future is looking bleak and i would drop the domain. We are now far enough in time to benchmark the domain based on search volume. More search volume = more market value = better change for a sale in my opinion.

I differ with your opinion that it’s time for VR to flourish. I believe we’re still very early in the game. Just this weekend, during basketball playoffs I saw four different VR commercials. Just now on CNBC they ran a segment about the demand for a real person remote driver taking control of an autonomous vehicle when needed in cities and other high traffic situations. There’s going to be hundreds of ways VR will be used in the future. As long as .com and websites are being used don’t give up just yet.

English is not my native language. I was trying to tell the current market / user base are not as high as anticipated a couple of years ago. Much less users and sales.

I got ya. Yes it has been much slower than anticipated, but I believe the uptrend is still slowly ramping. Lucky for me it’s been slower than projected, as I picked up some good VR names thrown away that were registered 5-10 years ago. Every day I see a new game or business using a .com VR+keyword or Keyword+VR. Demand will grow for good VR names as end users keep buying.

It is true that we expected the development of vr to be faster and more explosive, but I do not honestly believe that it is going so badly.

It is difficult, perhaps even impossible, for it to go much better than it does. There are many factors to take into account to see that the technology advances overcoming the technical problems, improving the quality of the components, the number and quality of the industrial companies that have joined the sector, the potential of uses of vr, the potential of webvr, .......

Undoubtedly domaining vr has a bright future, perhaps later than we thought and wanted, but certainly brilliant.

Reduce portfolio and prepare for a long journey, the best of strategies.

Calm.

I think it's been slower than we all anticipated.

Also the thing is most of us who invested in VR domains was new to domaining, so a lot got influenced by all the dreamers and bullshiters on here.

I still don't think the owner of VR+Games is panicking too much though and neither are people who own fantastic keywords like TV/360/Live/P*rn/S*x/Poker etc.

I've personally invested well into 5 figures on virtual tech domains, including paying 5 figures on 1 single VR domain. I don't regret it, even if VR fails and with that i fail, investing in VR domains as introduced to me domaining, it's something i would never have done if i didn't have an interest in VR and found the VR thread on NamePros and because of that I've also made a few investments on domains outside VR, 1 of which has potential pay for everything i've ever invested in (+ profit), already turned down an offer for it that would have.

If you own some of the best keywords in VR though just wait. If you own many average, I'd consider dropping, it's what I've done, i only own around 25 VR domains now from around 230 one point.

I haven't posted on here in a while but the sales are still happening and the offers are still coming in. I have a wide and larger portfolio than most which allows insight as to which sub-niches are getting interest.

Just hold on... VR is only going up from here. If you're not use to investing in tech trends it may seem like it's not doing well, but for us who've been doing this for a while... it's right on track. Sometimes it takes years for the surge. Slow and steady and you will eat.

just my two cents.
