NameJet Auction: How do you explain this?

I have a domain name that was previously listed at Namejet auction with a reserve of $600. While the auction was running, someone bid $501. It had 19 bidders altogether but no other person bidded higher than $501.

After the auction, I requested for the highest bidder to have the opportunity to claim the domain name at $501 even though it didn't reach reserve but Namejet rep told me that all effort to reach the bidder proved abortive.

I had to relist the domain name again after some weeks and to my greatest surprise, I have another bidder at $501 again.

My question is, what is the motive behind this kind of bid? Is this some fake bidder or bot or hugedomains or what? I find it this odd and weird at the same time.

They are playing pranks with your domain ni. Lol
Just leave it there. it will sell. Some buyers are fond of placing $501 on namejet domains that fall within $500 and $1000. I don't blame them. I have seen many reserves set at $501.
So they are only reducing cost.
Good luck bro

A somewhat artful assumption... Maybe they have a domain similar to yours and want to attract attention to your auction in hope someone will drive the price up above reserve in order to increase the hypothetical market value of theirs? :xf.smile:

As of today, bidders are 27 on the said names... I am typically not excited about this because last time, I had 19 bidders on it but other person went beyond $501. Why would they get in if they were not gonna bid much to exceed the reserve and win the domain name?

Auction never start bro . Names in pre release hardly go up in bids. Majority will register to bid at $69

reason why i dont really like namejet auction, why would you allow any bidder if he cannot outbid the last bidder....

Well someone seem to have just hit the reserve... so we wait. Right now we have 33 bidders on the name. It was 37 but 4 left before auction started.
