Purchased domains, but company won't release them

I purchased 2 domains the other day, but they are pending in the account and my 2 payments are on hold in my bank. I contacted support(through live chat and have no logs), they looked at the domains in my account. He said there is no problems with the domains, it's normal to be pending, they will become active in 24 hours. Today I get an email that said the domains are premium, and I can't register them, to choose different domains. I don't want to mention the company's name or domains yet, but I need a pro to tell me if there is anything I can do? I'm from the US, they are overseas, not icann registered. My payments are still on hold, and the domains are still pending in my account.

I need advice. I'm sorry if I can't reply fast, I'm in the emergency room with an IV and a crappy phone to make things worse.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Happens sometimes. I have been refunded many times. OnlyDomains has done it many times. I don't use them ever.

Sorry. Not much you can do. The registrars are not always accurate.

On another note, I have actually had that happen, then went elsewhere and got it for regular price. Check around.

Good luck at the hospital.

I am assuming you are talking about a Registrar and not a domain name marketplace? Choosing a trustworthy Registrar is one of the most important decisions in this business. Try buying them through another Registrar after a couple of days.

Thanks for that and thanks for the luck. Things are looking hopeful here.

Yes G. Why is it that I'm sol with a g? I'm learning. Thank you
You have no rights when you purchase GTLD's, even if they put them in your account, and you spent thousands building websites, and if they felt like they made an error, they could take them back 2 weeks later, and there is nothing you can do about it.

READ THE CONTRACT WHEN YOU REGISTER THE GTLD, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN!

Ahh. That's scary. I will read up on it. Thanks for putting it in a nutshell for me.

As well they can raise the renewal fee at anytime, by any percent even 1000000% if they deem fit, they don't need to inform you, simply the register of record.

Lots of great tidbits of information, many here have had their domains taken anyway, as I did early on in the process.

WOW! So in other words, it's probably smart to flip as fast as possible, opposed to holding? Well I'm glad this happened early on and I learned this lesson before I get too deep.

As an update on my ER trip, they sent me home with a MASSIVE 7mm kidney stone stuck in my ureter. An AK-47 round is 7.62mm so this thing is a beast. TMI: It's bigger than my pee hole, I'm gonna need surgery.

I'm just grateful to be here. I refused pain meds, I don't like narcotics in my system it might cause me to go on a spending spree and buy up a bunch of GTLD's!!!

Do a chargeback and don't use them again ( my 2 cents )

The payments are on hold, I would think they would probably give me a refund if I ask. If not, I will do a chargeback, I only wanted the domains I reg'd. That's good advice, I will never use them again. I got suckered into a deal and here I am (Lesson learned).

Might as well let the cat out the bag, it was exabytes. After searching around, I see others have had various issues. My mistake for not heeding the warnings. I highly recommend NEVER using them or any company with a similar business model. (n)

Yet another red flag for anyone wondering why I don't recommend them, when I asked support this question: " Hi, Is it free to push or transfer a domain on this site", I received an email asking me to explain myself.

Exabytes: "Appreciate if you can elaborate further on the "push and transfer domains on this site" that you are referring in your initial email."

What kind of a registrar doesn't understand the terms push or transfer?

Moving on..

Thank you everyone for your advice.

It happened the same thing to me last week for 3 domains. They said the refund will take 14 days to proceed

Sorry to hear your issues. I read about these problems all the time on here, and have not gotten that desperate to sign up. Couple more $ you would be all set up and good to go at dynadot/namesilo
time is money too.

Because this happens so often, it kind of makes me think it's a "Bait & Switch". Let people register a premium GTLD for a low price, then contact them and tell them to choose a different name. What a great way to get new customers (or angry domainers).

I plan to delete my account. You're right! Time is actually more valuable than money in my opinion. Every hour spent should increase in value as time goes on. That's the goal anyway. Another lesson learned.

Also I noticed while scrolling on their home page, their star rating system only had 2 votes the other day, and it was a 1 star. Now there is 60 something votes with 4.5 stars. Seems phoney to me (based on the number of complaints). Anyone can just visit the home page and click the star rating without signing up :)
