All different buyers.. Anyone else experiencing a lot of stuck sales. Should I bother to email the buyers or just assume it's going to fail due to non payment to escrow. Why do people agree to something and not follow through :( Never had so many failed due to buyers remorse. Just letting out some air today..

We never know what happens at escrow.com... Did you try to send friendly emails to buyers such as "hello... your transaction may soon be canceled due to inactivity... is there anything I may assist you with... blah blah" so you'll find did escrow.com introduce something new or were the buyers too lazy

i always try to send my buyers to makeoffers or buy on godaddy auctions. there they receive a higher motivation to complete sale which is that they will be banned if they fail. most do not want to fail and be blocked from gd for forever.

this is well worth the 20% fee I pay them. to check payment for me, take care of transfer, payout, and guarantee the payout in case of issues.. chargeback or what not

Alcy right, I just want to said that! GD or sedo, at least if they canceled, you still can take legal action or sue them, at minimum, banned their account :xf.grin:

I agree, however we should support other vendors because big vendors just don't care anymore.

Use Paypal, just make sure you confirm buyer, send invoice, and ask them for feedback. I can't think of anything else :)

I think you have it all the other way around ;)

escrow.com does not care.
gd does.

and paypal has 220+ million accounts. and the last thing it needs is more support. not to mention its not equipped to protect domain sales.

cheers

I have a GoDaddy sale at $5k which is going thru escrow.com It strikes me that the buyer is trying to pay escrow.com but for whatever reason, Escrow.com are not accepting their credit cards. The buyer is in UK. It might just be a ruse to run out the clock on the GoDaddy transaction. But it's always difficult to read the buyers true motivations.

I do find that most of my failed Escrow.com transactions have been because I have been too quick to push it to Escrow.com (not in the above case, but generally).

Something is going on. Were these or OP's offers possibly from @gmail.com addresses?

I had five offers from four emails in a very short timeframe. I replied to one and a deal was pending but then nothing.

You definitely should be corresponding with buyers during escrow. Ask them whats up (politely)

Did all of them agree to terms?

Not uncommon to have buyers do multiple attempts at paying for one reason or other, but four weeks is long

My guess is the sales were rushed and the buyer are still contemplating it.

Good Luck

@stub I had a buyer from Canada last Summer, he had agreed to pay a four figure sum, we went the escrow.com route.

His wire was returned by escrow.com, as he was outside USA. My understanding is if the buyer's bank account is outside USA, they won't take a wire.

My client was down $150 fees which I had to reimburse.

He actually sent me a draft, as he trusted me. No contact from escrow.com about the failed wire, the buyer had to reach out to me that the wire failed.

And some people think BTC has no value or use? Now that's a good one.

Your client was the seller or the buyer? Because seller would not be responsible for any fee in a failed transaction.

I got this BS almost everyday! :-, And most of them are NOT [email protected] addresses.
most of them are real end users... not spam.

@New.Life. Do you see a pattern here? A Uniregistry Lander Page Offer, where the offered price is quite high? It might be interesting to line this list up with their original offer prices.

All these offers are original! All these offers are initial offers, as these were the minimum offers that the buyer could make.

The buyer learns about the complexity of the escrow.com transaction including the ID verification and they walk away. That's why I opt for a uniregistry broker to hold their hand, and they have uniregistry escrow as an option or to fall back on.

I have a buyer who tried to pay 4 times at escrow.com but they are not accepting their credit card, I am going to close the sale through NameSilo. This is the first time I have faced a problem at Escrow.com.

Please forgive me. I'm not familiar with Uniregistry's CP for selling domains. If these were all original offers awaiting responses. Why haven't you replied to any of them? Or are they all like your example post on big.red? the negotiation broke down by the buyer along the way. And if this is the case, then why are they still awaiting response from the buyer? I'm honestly confused. Or is something wrong with Uniregistry's CP for selling domains? Which might explain why I'm confused.

The other commonality seems to be these are all nGTLD's. Nothing wrong with that, if that's your focus. But it might be why they seem to have some sticker shock at the prices. Perhaps they were expecting to buy these domains cheaply. I have about 100 nGTLD's which will probably reduce to about 50 with this year. Some I picked up as brand protection, and some for resale. It's been my limited experience, and also my thinking, not to buy nGTLD's from Resellers, because of the pricing is often way too high. And most of the domains will remain unsold until they are dropped. But I can see Big.Red is a keeper.

I always replied to them... that's why it shows: "Awaiting Response"
"We are waiting for the Buyer to respond to our message."

And I think that $25,000 for x.city is a nice price. Especially since google has x.company

And I think about SpaceX, and that the city on the Moon - Mars can be - Xcity :)

I'm only giving you my jaundiced experience of trying to sell nGTLDs. I think most of your domains are quite good from looking at your domain.deals website How do they find your listings on Uniregistry? Do you point the DNS to Uniregistry? I think you should maybe also point your domains from your website to Uniregistry, provided you are not paying commissions to Uniregistry.

This is not true. I am outside US. I bought many domains through Escrow.com using international wire transfer. Every time, the transaction was conducted successfully.
