Saw a nice post on DNW about namebright and now the bright orange banners here on namepros. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with them?

@Rebies

..24 hours since i emailed and messaged support about account lock and phone verification problem
got no reply as of yet.
account is still locked requiring phone verification which is still not working for me too...
i know you guys are busy and all
but i verified it 2 or 3 times before, so it's obviously a technical glitch
hope you fix it soon...

was finally contacted by support and told they don't see anything wrong with the account and can't find any verification issues either, asked to try again.
tried to log in and it worked this time, no verification required, everything seems to be working ok for now

let's see if the issue is resolved or it's just a temporary relief...
thanks Natalie / Namebright

Radar,

You are 100% inaccurate in your assessment. You are accusing us of Front-Running. I will say this very clearly…… We do not look at any queries people make to our system! We do not do anything of the sort, and I (Andrew Reberry) stand behind that! This is the truth and your posting is completely inaccurate!

All of the domains you listed above were dropping today. We have targeted domains like this for years and years. There is nothing new here.

Do not use the bulk search if you do not trust me. Furthermore, do not use NameBright.com anymore if you do not trust our company. In this case we appreciate that you are taking your business elsewhere. It is a good time for us to part ways.

Andrew

i just found this about you i had no idea you were part of jugedomains

hugedomains grabbed my domain symetium and made me pay over 1000 dollars to give it back, to clarify, symetium is a word i made up it has no value to anyone other than myself it's a bunch of letters, since you say hugedomains takes domains that are valueble explain to me why they took mine and made me pay over 1000 dollars to get it back? i am a little over 20 so money is not something i have and i feel extorted.

It probably had backlinks and traffic and was a few years old. There is no magic in this stuff. I can only assume you ignored the renewal notices and/or failed to renew it, or had an old whois email address you didn’t check and it went to pending delete with no response from you and they have the best drop catch service to grab expired names. That’s life, sorry that you lost the name. You should feel fortunate it was only $1000, as Huge sells many names for double that price. Namebright is a good company to deal with.

HugeDomains buys everything.. they have softwares which buy hundreds of domains everyday, your domain was just one of those.

Hi all.
If I sold premium domain at Namebright, can I withdraw the money to my card? I can´t find this option :)

Anyone else having serious issues loading the site? It's gotten so bad lately I am considering abandoning their service all together.

I have for a month. Not going to move, next to namesilo they have the best domainer interface, fast dns, etc. but I think we should ask @Rebies and @DropCatch Support. Have you called? They do return calls and answer pretty fast.

I totally agree about their site, but I'm wasting too much time waiting for the site to load. I would rather deal with NameCheap's trash interface than have to wait 15 minutes for a page to finish loading. Their support has been alerted for weeks and all they can do is apologize. No resolution in sight.

But you are correct, I have not complained as I did not have massive activities, a nameserver or other change here or there, sorting a list. etc. I would wait and wait. Now just tried and it's much more like it was probably a year ago, "Normal", it's slowly gotten slower, they have gotten quite a few new customers.

Been having issues getting logged out, enabling privacy, it's slow, and lags, choppy at best.

Anytime I report it, they make it like it's just me, or my connection, no ownership of techncal issues. Lots of choices out there.

Extremely frustrating. I'm hoping this finds resolution quickly, again unable to access the site for hours and no response from support. @Rebies @DropCatch please advise.

I don't think you are going to see much improvement. My guess is they use the same hosting for both NameBright AND DropCatch. I see similar problems on DropCatch, which are particularly irritating about the time of the drop.

What is noticeable. Is they usually have only about <100 domains in their drop catch every day. So I'd guess the problem lies in the 1000's of domains they capture for themselves every day. Slowing things down. Personally. I think they need to improve their overall speed. But I won't be holding my breath. It sucks.

I think Stub nailed it, they are using so many resources for their internal business, it is slowing it down for their retail customers.

I tried to logon after I posted before, got it at early am but barely useable, and just now 6 hours later. I cannot even sign in right now. It sits stuck at the login screen. Tried numerous times just now.

This might not be the reason, but have you tried clearing your cache?

Never need to. Just continual clicking over a 15 minute period, it finally logs in. Then once in my account, say if I sort, it takes forever. Or, If i do a batch process say changing 10 domains to auto renew, it might never finalize. So I repeat it several times and then they all update. Its been a daily issue these past few months especially wifi, but even direct to router still will hang. Last week especially, this week not actively doing anything.

This morning I sent a support email and than stated they were working on it. They did tell me on the phone a couple months ago they were basically inundated with new customers.

Dropcatch advertising for Nov-Feb was heavy, every website I went adsense populated their ads. So, they are growing. Its normal imo, I will work early 3am but still busy because of intl customers. No patterns.

You mentioned with Dropcatch earlier, I was unable to get a final bid in a couple months ago, and lost three specific names due to the bandwidth squeeze of other bidders. I gave up bidding at last minute as I am changing to focusing on developing several right now.

As I have said in other threads happy with the Small domainer friendly company and will be patient and will have transfered out all domains from Godaddy in due time. GD seems to always be a hassle with my whois info not populating, or populating with abuse@.... etc. backwards old user interface, etc. GD Customer service is ok to great depends on who answers the phone.

Dynadots interface is nicer now, I like their changes they made. Namesilo is great. Enom, Fasthosts (worst), dotster, bigrock, uniregistry, net sol, have accts with them but none are as good for batch processing and fast dns as NB or NS imo.

Site is somewhat working, but there is zero chance of making a transfer in or out. Support gave the same answers as last time...

"We've been experiencing network issues lately and have a team of engineers working on a resolution. NameBright should be up and running. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please let us know if you have additional questions."

Incoming transfers are stuck with this error:
"Error! NameBright is trying to retrieve the email address from the whois record on this domain. If this shows up for more than an hour it is likely the whois server at whois.dns.com is not working properly. NameBright will keep trying to retrieve this information. If the problem persists for 48 hours, our engineers will be notified of the issue."

It seems like a faucet, as if they turn retail customers off and on. Not waiting around anymore, switching to NameSilo for the time being.

I've used the bulk checker and it's laggy but haven't logged in so cannot attest to the other issues.

Bummer that they are not fixing the issues.
