had many non payers to my sales on sedo. I sue them and took their house, wife and pet goat. Better pay up!

Watch out for @urlurl he knows how to sue for pets and goats

I just reread the ToS. The seller could pay the Sedo commission.

i think he should sell that premium .info name he has been holding for 2 weeks and use that money to payoff what he owes sedo and the buyer. :xf.rolleyes:

Here is my take on it....

I want to make some fake purchases on sedo to bump up my portfolio so I'll make a fake profile on namepros and ask about the consequences of fake buying but not taking possession on sedo just so I can be assured I won't really be sued or something.

Have I got that right? :xf.grin:

No student is really stupid enough to confirm and keep clicking on an expensive domain when they don't have two nickels to rub together. If they are then I just lost all faith in humanity :xf.laugh:
@MapleDots You hit the nail right on the head and drove it in with one swing! How many times have we seen people bid ridiculous price on their own junk domain?

OP, Google: "1and1 Domain debtor collectors", "1and1 sold my information to a debt collection", "1&1 debt collectors" etc..

1and1 (1&1 / United Internet ) and Sedo the same company!

Beware of SEDO.COM and 1and1!

Personally, if it were a one-click instant buy procedure, I would understand. But it's a fairly involved process to get all the way through to agreeing to buy that domain. Personally, as a seller, I would be pretty livid. There wouldn't be anyway for me to make you pay, but you'd have wasted my time and worse still caused a massive disappointment as £8,000 is a fairly decent sum of money to get for an instant pay on SEDO. Lesson learnt, never do this again. For what it's worth all the best with sorting it out and I hope the seller can forgive you.

im calling BS

one does not accidently buy a domain, the process involves multiple steps - i think the OP had cold feet on the purchase and wants to know what will happen if he pulls out.

Yep my thoughts exactly. It's not a one one click order, it's an involved process. No way OP could 'accidentally' go all the way to purchase, T&C's etc... doesn't add up.

Or Liam Neeson...

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for my domain I can tell you that you don't have the money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long domaining career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you send the funds now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will open a support ticket to have you banned from Sedo."

no its not how they do it. if seller is not at fault, which he isn't.. he will never be penalized.. what can happen is they force the buyer to pay a fee.. for failure to complte purchase... be it administrative costs or whatever.. whcih could well simply be the comission fee as you said.

I had couple cases with sedo where buyer bought and was either delaying or never paid... and that's what they said.. sometimes its a ban.. sometimes its the fees.. just remember, if you are not a fault .. ie: you sell domain buyer never pays for it, then seller is never charged anything or held responsible... similarily, if you are buyer, and seller refuses to sell, buyer never pays penalty and is not responsible.

I'll make a string, let it go viral and then sell my crappy domain!!

Hats off to the OP!!!!!

And it's working. Once this thread has attained legendary status in a few years, OP's domain will be worth millions.

Hard to imagine that someone so new to a forum, yet who already knows how to use the Dislike button, would be so clueless as to go all the way through the procedure to bid eight thousand dollars mistakingly on a domain.

Your only redemption is to contact Herr Dave Evanson at Sedo, and ask him to list changeit.info as a premium domain for $99,999 dollars. After a lengthy auction among shill bidders, pay off the $8k you owe to the poor owner of the .com whose time you wasted, and use the remaining money to install plenty of toilets across India.

Don’t pay. Nobody will sue you over an $8000 domain because it will cost them more than $8000 in legal fees.

But, take this as a lesson learned. Don’t play around with money. This is a big boy game and you seem like a little kid. Learn from this and move on.
