I own one of the best crypto names in .gdn.. but the extension is such a big question mark for me. nice keyword though!
If you can hold it long, someday somebosy might need it for sure...and you might get lucky...great name...

Yes, I feel somewhat divided re .gdn. On the negative, side, essentially never resale significant enough to get shown in database, and because so many registrars don't even handle it, it is not well known even to domainers. Since they have been sold cheap, abuse remains an issue in acceptance of the domain name.

On the positive, it is reasonably popular (#32 on ngTLD popularity, with a bit over 120,000 registrations), yet some great short single words still available (many of the registrations must be in other languages for so many to still be available?). Also, I like the idea of a global domain name and .gdn doesn't have some of the negative connotations of some of the silly extensions. Also, the renewal price is reasonable at the registrars that do handle it, some of them. I think it's also a positive that one of the big players, Namecheap, have started handling it.

At first I had only one .gdn because a word I only wanted was there and essentially nowhere else. Lately I have added more, including robotics.

I plan to hold the best of them and hope to sell them, not feeling greedy or unrealistic about price point.

With the current pattern we see the big players tend to buyout all the TLDs in their name. In that factor robotics has a high value. The longer they wait the TLDs becomes more popular and it gets expensive as well. So they will come for you for sure.

yes.. only few registrars.. that doesn't help... .recently learnt by chance you can transfer to epik for $9.. beats the 10-12$ renewal at dynadot. in case you did not know.

anyway, I will be only keeping 1 (bitcoins.gdn)... I do not like the extension.. but on plus side, there are tons ngtlds I like even less....

well.. gl then. ciao

Please do show us examples of this statement. Some extensions want up to $60,000 per year for what they consider to be "premiums" then consider the fact the pool of New Gtld's is growing by the day and I find it unlikely any company will be able to cover all bases. Even to try is dumb business.

Google has close to 190 domain variations, Amazon close to 100+, ebay, MS, banks etc when their inception increases they tend to acquire regional TLDs....

Most will go down the trademark route. I doubt any entity will bother to secure all 2000 new gtld's when all are available. As for genetic terms there is simply no point. To be honest pigs will fly before I type in a .gdn web address. I am happy to agree that ebay.shop makes sense but ebay.red may be a bit of a stretch. To say hold a name for along time means it will sell is incorrect.

Yeah should work with some common sense. But if someday somebody opens a store in Canada and wanted to have a Red Extension, he might be willing to buy ebay.red, never know.

They will already have ebay.ca ...... so why bother? They really don't need the new Gtld's because have the cctld in most cases.

Found a top-notch domain in use by an enduser: bots.co.uk

Interesting also since they are hiring out robots - looks like rentals could be big.

Any task, Any time
Hire a collaborative robot from only £65 per day

The use of Collaborative Robots (or Cobots) within industrial sectors is rapidly increasing. Many industries are realising the potential and benefits that utilising a collaborative robot within their business can bring.

Given the relatively expensive nature of robots, I always thought there'd be a robust rental market, hence I regged:

Bot Rentals / com
Rent Robo / com ;)

I also think that local rental of bots is also going to create value for the Geo/bot combos... So I also grabbed up some of those:
NYbots / ParisBot etc...

I wasn't asking too high of a price for it,but felt it was worth more. I guess he didn't.
I may not get another offer for it but I'll hold on to it for a while and see what happens.:xf.smile:
Thanks
