This thread is to share domains you've Won at Auction or Bought at Closeout

Closeout = After auction but before completely dropping from registrar and before going into redemption.

I *HIGHLY* suggest to post only after the domain is transferred *INTO* your account!

Go here if it's a domain you bought that was available at anytime for "hand registration": Your Reg of the Day
Go here if it's a domain you snapped / "drop-catched" after "Pending Delete": Your Snap of the Day

Feel free to disguise the domain like Slash // dot // com or any o|t|h|e|r w a y you want.
IMPORTANT: *If* someone does disguise their name, please respect them by quoting them directly, or copy/paste them directly.

Things to optionally include (or just simply post the domain name):

  1. What you paid for the domain(s), or the price range, or no price info at all.
  2. Any information, reasons or hard data (traffic, CPC, etc) that lead you to buy the domain(s).
  3. Where (or who) you acquired the domain from.
  4. How many other bidders there were.
  5. Whether the domain was "expired" or not.
  6. Whether the domain was at "closeout" or not.
  7. The history of the domain.
  8. What you see the domain being used for.
  9. Who a potential buyer could be.
  10. Anything else you want to share .. these are just possible ideas not "rules" ;)

ExtraOlives // dot // com
This is one of those sleeping giants. More than just a random side-order request .. it's actually more of a "saying". Lots of people order Martinis with "Extra olives". It's such a big thing for some that it's more a of "lifestyle" choice. All of which makes this domain extremely flexible with limitless potential end users.

MMAMonthly // dot // com
MMA = Mixed Martial Arts. Essentially the generic equivalent to UFC. With millions of fans of MMA and another very large number of participants at thousands of gyms around the world, this is a great name for a monthly magazine.

A1Protection // dot // com
not a huge fan of number domains .. unless it's clear that the number is actually a number (as opposed to being spelled out. Domains that include 365, 360, 247 are domains that I would say are clearly numeric. A1 to me is also clearly always spelled "A1" (and not AOne). Add to that "Protection" being a HUGE $$$ industry, and this is another really strong domain! :)

I post my domain pickups as a NamePros status weekly.

Week of February 18th Pickups (only two domains)
  • SocialSpotlight.com
  • Roster.org - One of only two .ORGs in our portfolio.

Acquired in only 2 or 12 auctions this week.

DiscerningPalate // dot // com
Like this saying for anything food related.

SharpThought // dot // com
Really like this great sounding brand as it really could be used for almost anything.

SocialSpotlight.com
Roster.org - One of only two .ORGs in our portfolio.
I was eyeing Roster myself. It certainly can work in .org. Social Spotlight is really nice as well! :)

Few more:

INDI // QUA // dot // com - nice brandable I like and @Ategy.com is probably gonna hate ;)
SKY // TUG // dot // com - like this one quite a lot - heavy lifting, air cargo & many more possible uses
VELO // LOFT // dot // com - awesome for the booming bike rental (or even selling) business in green cities
COM // NOTH // dot // com - since 1996 and quite descriptive
ENO // ART // dot // com - descriptive (and nice sounding) art related brandable

FuelSpy // dot // com
I like this one for gas price comparisons. Lots of people out there hunting around online for lowest prices.

BestBrochure // dot // com
Nice alliteration domain for printing company.

PhotoBolt // dot // com
I just really liked this combination of words together. Lots of online businesses involve many aspects of photos, and the bolt just makes whatever it is sound super fast compared to the competition!
