I think canspace may have lost my business, because I have learned how to work the system for the cheapest .ca registrations.

Web hosting Canada seems to be THE cheapest to register in Canadian dollars and their transfers are the same price as registrations. They suck at renewal prices so you have to move out when that happens.

ALL transfers are 10.99 at go daddy so when my domains renew I move them to godaddy and when they renew the following year back to WHC they go. So I never pay more than.....

.ca $9.99 to $10.99
.com $10.00 to $12.99

Technically canspace is 10.99 too but their .coms are so NOT competitive so I cannot see myself keeping domains their because dealing with 3 registrars is time consuming.

I will go between godaddy and WHC for the absolute lowest cost on TRANSFERS.
I track my transfer codes on my spreadsheet so it really is not a lot of work if you do 10 domains per day.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Namespro.ca has $9.88 transfer. You have to use a promocode for it, can't remember what it is. I installed the Chrome extension "Honey" and it finds the codes for me.

Without codes, when there are no sales on

Register at WHC for $9.95

Transfer to Godaddy after 1 year at $10.99

Transfer back to WHC after 1 year at $9.95

Cheapest way I can do it without a sale or coupon, when prices are regular.
It may seem like a lot of work but with my spreadsheet its pretty seamless and I just transferred a few hundred domains and saved a dollar per domain by moving them to WHC from canspace.

$13.88 regular price at Namespro.... YIKES..... always have to wait for a coupon and you know its hit and miss with coupons.

My system now guarantees me 9.95-10.99 rates at all times without paying that damned 14.95 godaddy discount club per month.

Yup, you have to work the system :xf.smile:

You can always transfer it out of Namespro after the year.

True but its a temporay promo and it adds another registrar, I'm trying to limit the amount of registrars I deal with to 3. I have no issues switching for savings but if it's only a once in a while sale the difference between 9.99 at whc and 9.88 at namespro does not make it worth my while to add another registrar to my list.

USD right?

With exchange and the fee the credit card companies charge that cost adds up to more.

yes usd. if u have usd balance in pypal 8.99$ on namesilo to renew and transfer is the easiest and most convienient way.. else you lose time looking around and transfering around.. and well... time is money too

p.s. not sure if gd transfer is 10.99$ can or usd cause if you switch to usd it still says 10.99$

It's 10.99 cdn as well, it's their lost leader.

.ca tranfers are virtually instantaneous and with my spreadsheets super simple.

In the retail world its a product where you pull your pants down and give the absolute greatest deal you can give to bring people in the door.

Pulling your pants down was an expression we used in the car industry years back when a customer wanted a deal below cost. We used to say we've pulled our pants down as low as they can go :xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh::ROFL:

Mind you that was in a different climate than we have today..... everything is sooooo politically correct now. :xf.rolleyes:
