Sedo Pricing Question

Is it good practice to go with sedo's auto pricing or is it often way off?

For example:
It suggests I should set my price for ubliq .com to $599US
homebrewbard .com for $499US
reviewagram .com $499US

and a few others for $499US as well..

Does this seem about right to you OR should I be setting domains like this higher or lower?

Cheers!

I wasn't really happy with some of their suggestions but I haven't sold any names there so.. Domain marketplaces make a higher commission but I think this is relevant

Sometimes ;)

Generally, they are too low.

I would be very careful using their auto pricing - at least with more valuable names. There was an incident not so long ago with a LLL.com being sold for low $x,xxx because the seller did not know the market price and followed Sedo's price suggestion.

i'd say those price suggestions are inflated, for those names.

so run with it for a while and see what happens

Good Luck!

imo....

I agree. I might lower the prices and see what happens.
They were all bought for reg price so anything over that is profit ;)

Don't forget commission. Sedo has a $60 minimum.

@mr-x $60 dang!!
Has it always been that much?
Last time I sold a domain via Sedo was back in 2014 I think.

Yes, I think so. Some cctld's and new gtlds may be higher.

Yeah I think it's general knowledge amongst those of us who've been around that Sedo pricing is way off and not reliable lol.

Not sure if we are talking about the same domain but there was more to that story.

Haha that's gold.
Definitely not trustworthy.

Hopefully the prices I have now are reasonable and get an offer.
I'm not really much of a domainer - I focus more on affiliate marketing and buy domains to develop. The ones I don't have time for I try flip with or without a website.

I could not find the original thread. Or maybe it wasn't even at NamePros that I read it... Maybe someone else remembers?

In any case, I would be very careful with Sedo's price suggestions.
