I have been having an online presence since a really long time in different sectors. I have had fb,twitter, hundeds of registerations on sites with a single email id. I also made this user on np with the same email and i own a godaddy a/c with a few products on this same email. Do you think i should start afresh as a domainer with a new email id and register @ godaddy, sedo etc with this new one?

Use your actual email for domaining too, don't waste time opening a new email account.
Invest time looking for Good Valuable domains!

I use @MapleDots for my business but if I have a valuable domain I always make an [email protected] email address because it looks good on the lander. I forward it to my main account but man it worked gang busters when I swapped out a 2 name for a 3 name domain a few years back. I just sent my email address next to theirs. The email address sold the domain.

Agreed. Try to look as professional as possible. Realtors are trying to do the same thing -- put buyers and sellers together to get deals done -- and generally present themselves as professionals. A domain investor or broker should be no different.

I would also recommend keeping personal and domain business online presence separate. If you can't find a professional-sounding name related to your personal name, or don't want to market yourself with a personal name, find a good business name (and preferably a .com domain name to go with it) so you can have a professional e-mail along with being able to set up a website if you want.

We had jagdomains.com for sale a while ago ... was a domain website with a marketable domain name.

Thank you all for all your valuable opinions. I own a couple of domains already which are for personal use. I guess i need to buy a domain specifically for using it for the account but google apps stopped being free for sometime now. Do you all use some free alternative ?

You should still be able to get a free gmail account. Tough to get good names unless you want something very unique. For jagdomains.com we ended up using [email protected]

Use the email of your domaining website, if you have one. You will seem more professional and serious. You will also start out with no spam, unlike your old email.

Many people have several emails and then they set up filter rules so certain email gets placed into the right folder.

What are your goals? Why do you want to change your email? It depends on what you want to accomplish. If you are trying to broker domains, your brand can be very important but if you are just participating in auctions and buying domains, your email really doesn't matter.

Best Regards,

Jennifer

Reviving this thread, I want to answer that the goal beneath the email is basically to send out professional looking outbound enquiries. So it seems that custom domain with email is the way to go. Which is the best or good place to get that ? Is registering domain + gsuite good? or i should go with something like godaddy pro email service ?

My Recommendation: Register your name in .com and use that domain as your email (ex. [email protected]), or start a business and use that. (ex. [email protected]).

I have used GoDaddy email with no problems.

Cheers!

I think Maxtra's advice is going to give you the most professional look. If you'd rather not have to deal with multiple email accounts (which I can totally understand), I don't think it would look incredibly unprofessional to use a Gmail account. Then you can easily link your domain accounts together through Gmail. However, I'm still very new to this, so keep that in mind!
