Same here, vaguely recall this was mid 70's and I was only 15. We had a "Lab" with steering wheels. I think out one time in a dual steering wheel car, I had like 10 minutes behind the wheel and the instructor as I recall asked me to stop and I over did it, slammed on the brakes scared everybody in the car girls screaming and he got pissed and said next..., haha. That was about it for real driving, but I had my parents allow me to learn on their cars of course. Driving is the ultimate freedom at that age really, was great fun. Drove full time by 16 license on my exact B-day just everywhere in LA, and to and from work and for work "go-fer" pick up's at 17- I recall having to drive routinely through Imperial Blvd. all the away across South Central LA, many times. Wasn't a pleasant journey nor was it eventful, just mandatory straight line needed to pick up experimental defense aircraft parts for work. No accidents until like 18 though.

We had a right turn on Red law, ok in CA. Found out traveling all over for business by getting tickets in other states that wasn't allowed, lol. Never figured out which states were ok. Recall getting stopped by a speed trap in Utah, where I was busy talking and not paying attention to the speedometer, going 85. Officer, was super nice (Unlike the pricks in CA I was used to) he reduced the speed so my insurance would not go up. Never forget that, never would have been the same in CA- immediate ticket.

Should we outlaw knives like the UK? No constitutional protection so state, even cities could pass laws restricting knife ownership.



Calls to ban AR-15 style rifles may be the feel good solution bu in reality.. it would accomplish nothing.

The stat people are talking about is mass shootings. So would need to see a graphic on that. I would guess Automatic rifles would be quite high on that one.

That chart is total gun deaths mass shooting, robbery, self-defense, etc.

What's the difference between an AR-15 and a pump shotgun shooting into a crowded room? Dead is dead.

BTW, 17 murdered is a slow month in Chicago. When was the last time you heard ANY news outlet wringing their hands about gun murders in Chi-town? (hint: it was right before an election )

This is your/NRA typical distraction type stuff. We're talking about something very specific, you try to turn it to something else. As far as Chicago or some other places, I think it's mainly 2 things. It's not happening in my neighborhood, why should I care. I think many see this as self-regulating. It is mainly gang on gang violence, with some completely innocent people getting caught up in the mix. These mass shootings, the victims are usually completely innocent.

Back to the original topic. I posted earlier about Feinstein's proposal to raise the age to 21 for the AR-15. Didn't see a response from you on that one. Wasn't sure if you were waiting for the NRA's response to copy and paste.

I don't think the NRA is, because then you lose sales from 18, 19, and 20 year olds. I don't think the NRA cares about mentally unstable people buying guns, but a gun sale is a gun sale.

There is no cure-all, but there are some things you can do better.

NRA doesn't care how old you are when you join. Believe it or not, there are millions of people under the age of 18 that can shoot, hunt and have never broken the law.

You slander the NRA b/c you don't like the #2A, not b/c you have any facts.
