Thank you. can you please wait a min while I investigated your demand

In another country for sure. You made a request, she confused the word with demand.
Clear signs of a language barrier.

I was never too excited with whc.ca support.. there is just something terrible about that

so I thought I'd ask here

I do not have much experience transfering out expired .ca domsins.. and since its not really icann where they have to let you do it for 20-30 days past expiry in most registrars.. can someone confirm how it works for .ca? can I transfer expired .ca from whc.ca ... how many days max?

cheers

Where are you moving too?
I have about 250 domains with them and their renewal is $13.99.
I can get $10.99 with canspace.ca and the bulk of my domains are with them. They offer me excellent service. I did ask for a discount moving in 250 and I was told they are at cost once they factor in credit card fees.

when i transfer one out of whc to goodaddy it took like 30 seconds. Once you enter auth code at gaining registrar, never received any more confirmation of transfer request.
I did that, transfer to dadday as I had a buyer wanted to transfer to there and said godaddy or no sale daddy.
So I transfer one to see how long it would take. Be the last one

What are you paying for a .ca at godaddy?

I really am sorry, but it is very rare that we offer transfer coupons as our transfer pricing is already so low. We unfortunately cannot offer coupons that result in losing money. Our approach is to offer our best prices upfront, never charge for things most registrars charge for such as lifetime free WHOIS privacy, and not make our customers need to hunt for coupons or special offers.

The 8.99 USD for a .ca converts to 11.33 CDN and then the credit card company charge 1.5% conversion so the total is $11.49 per domain. I currently pay $10.99 at canspace and their bulk tools are not too great. They use the exact same interface as whc which leaves a lot to be desired.

All in all for the 50 cents I would be inclined to switch if the bulk tools were great. The only problem is moving about 600 domains is one tedious task because you have to get each transfer code. Not a problem because both whc and canspace give that to you in one keyclick but entering that in manually at namesilo with cut and paste would be one hell of a job.

I'm still waiting for any company to somehow automate the process of moving a larger bulk portfolio.

Hello. We allow people to transfer up to 500 domains in each order. The transfer order can be placed via TXT file upload including the domain name and EPP code on each line. Since CIRA does not require email authorization, once you submit your order, all of your domains should complete transferring within about 5-10 minutes (assuming they are unlocked and the provided EPP codes are correct). We have transferred nearly 500,000 domains from other registrars (https://www.namesilo.com/transfer_compare.php) so we really have made the process as easy as we can on our end, but our support team is always standing by to help with any questions or issues that arise. Our average email response time is under 10 minutes during business hours.

HeHe

Yup, no way around the 600 manual EPP code entries to the spreadsheet though... sigh

That said, the most important thing to me is the bulk tools. I always get a timeout when I try to make bulk changes at other hosts and I have to split the process up into 10 or so repetitive processes.

I created a namesilo account but do not have any domains there yet. Do you have a demo anywhere showing the bulk tools?

We have a basic demo here: https://www.namesilo.com/domain_tools.php

I can tell you that our bulk tools are very advanced and one of the reasons so many people on NamePros prefer our service over other registrars. You can feel free to read reviews about us on NamePros or across the Internet and I'm sure you will find references to how easy and powerful our tools are. I would imagine several people on this thread are customers of ours so perhaps they can address usage of our tools with their accounts?

You can also see how many fellow NP'ers rates us here :)

Ohhh man I am dreading the year end when all my 2 dollar registrations come due.

Mind you I sold two for 1.5k each so the fee is covered but I still dread hundreds of cheap domains coming due at regular renewal fees. I have to move them all from whc to canspace because of price.

Did you guys know godaddy offers 10.99 domain transfers on .ca's too? That matches canspace and blows the lid off the $13.99 charged by whc for renewals.

Mind you after a year you have to move out of godaddy again because it goes up dramatically and even with their domain club they are a buck more than canspace.

Cheeech I should get a kickback from canspace for all the advertising. I did ask them for a discount but it was a no go.

just as I Was preparing to post here that given the relatively high renewals and few sales happening, I will be deciding to drop most of my mostly promo regged .ca domains.. I get an inquiry today on one of the domains via parking page.. 1k... problem is the buyer country was showing up as germany.. but.. I am assuming he knows restrictions and knows what he's doing .. maybe small biz owner in canada or what not.. either way.. I accepted offer.. then he asked what escrow service I can use.. without replying to him, I just redirected domain to a gd auctions page.. which I guess pleased him cause few mins later he sent me the 1k offer through it..

well...let's hope it works out okay. I've no clue at which stage gd auctions actually aks him to verify he can own this domain... anyone knows? is it before they checkout? after they pay? aftr payment clears? or maybe after doman transfers to godaddy? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

of course.. this does not mean I'll run to renew all my .ca domains ... and frankly, having one solid sale (my highest .ca so far) in 3 years since I started to domain is not that great a statistic.. all in all I think .ca domains are still a very hard sale... but its definitely fine and fun to reg a bunch on $2 promos! I'll keep a few I feel are good around also.. but renewing many most or all of what we may reg on promos, to me, is sadly not a very good looking prospect or investment. imo of course.

cheers
