Usually I see lot of offers for good domain names, inc. one word domains with .EU
I was checked the sales on namebio.com - and find that .EU is not so popular, only Sedo and Golem are the marketplaces with reported sales...

What's the problem with this gTLD?

I see people said:
- Google doesn't like .EU's;
- European Union is not a country - there everyone speaks his own language;
- It's hard to register .EU domain because it's needs EU addres...

What is your opinion?
Do you have .EU in your portfolio?
Do you have a kinf of sales with .EU?

Yes, but they have agreements of free trade with EU, without that their economy will be half. And EU has said they will not accept any other special agreements...inside or outside.
Such trade agreements you may have with any country in the world... without losing your sovereignty.
For example, Ukraine has this agreement with EU and Canada and many other countries...

Yes, but hey are not they same type...they don't have free agreement for movement of goods and peoples...it's important when you can't import and export everything without taxes and borders. Do you think that Switzerland it's happy to have open borders for 500 million peoples? They were forced to accept it because they need to sell everything to EU and you can't have just one of them.

The same... Free trade agreement for Ukraine with EU and Canada etc.

Only people movement is not the same as for EU-members.

You don't know all the facts. Ukraine has an agreement from 01 sepptember 2017, but the products exported to EU need to be EU approved, and less than half of them are possible to be exported for now. And this was done just to help Ukraine against Russia, but after Brexit there was an agreement between EU countries that no they will not sign any other the same.

This free trade agreement is bi-directional... and it works between Ukraine and EU since January'2016...

Regarding Sep'1 of 2017 - this is just formal date of the political part of this agreement...

It works from 2016, but it was more political, because they wanted to bring Ukraine closer to EU and Nato and to get closer to Russia...but the products still just around half of them are EU approved and the agreement started to be discussed from 2014, in the meantime a lot has changed.

EU has the same economic interest in the Ukrainian market as Ukraine in EU...
Just FYI: Ukraine is the biggest country in Europe by territory and with over 40M population...

With 90 billion PIB and around 7k PPP EU can't have any economical real interest, for them it's just political, because it'a at the border between EU and Russia.

Washed brain by the Russian TV???
I'm coming from a country where 98% of the population it's against Russia, so there is no Russian TV. It's just simple economics, with 15 trillion gdp you can't have to much interest in a 90 billion market, it's less than Hungary, who has 9 million population. Ukraine is in this agreement from an economical point of view and EU is from a political point of view.

I see many goods/products in the Ukrainian shops which are imported from the EU...
And other kinds of cooperation and EU-investments into real sector...

If you don't know - then don't post.

Regarding GDP, PPP etc.

These values are based on the official stats...
Up to 50% of the Ukrainian economy is in shadow...
And even official growth was 2.x% in 2017...

The uk did a stupid move getting out the EU. I'm surprised with Greece that wants to get out.

Exactly. They basically have the privileges same as being a member.

My uncle works at one of the borders between Ukraine and EU and I can tell you for sure that half of the the products from Ukraine are accepted in EU. Also, regarding products from EU, it's normal when you can get cheaper products or the for the same price but better quality to import products, this is happening all over EU, but that doesn't mean that they count on them, when the market has a GDP just a little bit bigger than Luxembourg, do you really think that EU counts on Luxembourg to sell their products?

Ukraine was probably accepted just to move it away from Russia.

Norway, Switzerland, Iceland are not EU-members and they live perfectly...

Was that a reply to my post? I think that has nothing to do with what I posted, which was about most people in EU being in favor of EU, not against.

Anyway, it's so absolutely obvious there's no need to be in the EU to be a developed country that I don't really see the point in reminding it.

So I was just making clear that, contrary to what Kate has written several times in this thread, most people in EU are in favor of being -and remaining- part of EU.

p.s. Over 45% yield in 2017 investing into Ukrainian companies...

This theme is finished for me and I don't want to comment any further fantasies.

What many people fail to realize is that EEA members countries are almost members of the EU de facto.
They have to contribute to the EU budget, accept freedom of movement for persons, follow a good chunk of the EU regulations and acquis communautaire, without having a say on the matter. Because EEA was designed as a transit status rather than a permanent status... Obviously their sovereignty is curtailed under such rules. They have to align their legislation and abide by rules made by others.
Also they are not free to sign trade deals with third countries but they benefit from the trade deals the EU negotiates on behalf of members.
This is the price to pay to enjoy the benefits of free trade with the EU.
Which means the UK may be heading for a Canada-type agreement and will leave the framework in order to negotiate trade deals independently.

But at least the EEA countries can buy .eu domains :)

So I was just making clear that, contrary to what Kate has written several times in this thread, most people in EU are in favor of being -and remaining- part of EU.
I am not disputing that. What I said is that EU is rather unpopular, but the majority of people want to remain nonetheless.
If the EU was more popular (it used to be more popular), then maybe .eu would get more traction.

I personally didn't owned any .biz, but I had better results with .org and .co than with .eu
The idea is not that they are not great for domainers, but the fact is that .com is not really used by small european companies and in this regard, .eu is used more.

Usage (for regfee) and aftermarket demand are not the same...
.info usage is medium and high (in some countries - even very high) but sales are rare and most are low (no higher than low $X,XXX)...
