XBT Selling Bitcoin Domain Name After Suing Over Trump Dossier

"A tech company linked to the hacking of the U.S. Democratic Party in a disputed dossier about Donald Trump is selling its internet domain name, which happens to include the same three letters some traders use as shorthand for bitcoin."

"XBT Holding SA, a privately held web-hosting and data-storage firm based in Luxembourg, is auctioning off the rights to xbt.com and has set the minimum price at 200 bitcoins."

How is it, that a LLL.com such as XBT.com, has been in auction since January 5th, 2018, and up until now has had little to no press by the "domain industry"?

TheDomains.com had written about XBT.com purchasing Servers.com for $300k back in late 2013. HERE

It appears XBT is holding their own auction!

On 11:00am ET on Sunday, February 4th, 2018, XBT will notify the winning bidder and winner must send the purchase price funds (less the deposit amount) if paying in dollars by a wire transfer and provide a wire transmittal receipt to XBT or if paying in Bitcoins to XBT Bitcoin wallet until 11:00am ET on Tuesday, February 6th. It is the responsibility of the winning bidder(s) to understand their bank’s deadline for initiating wire transfers in order to ensure that the domestic wire transfer is initiated and a wire transmittal receipt provided to XBT by the deadline. Failure to provide XBT with a copy of the wire transmittal receipt by the deadline will result in disqualification, forfeiture of the deposit, and award of xbt.com domain to the next successful eligible bidder. No domain transfer will be made until XBT has confirmed receipt of all purchase funds. Xbt.com domain transfer process will begin immediately following clear receipt of purchase funds. The winner will be given private instructions related to the transferring of the domain name.

Well it seems to have sparked interest in names starting with "XBT". I managed to find one, but they seem to be disappearing fast.

xbt is only a ticker for bitcoin on kraken. Everywhere else it's btc....
