I am the owner of MCV.COM, I registered this domain with NetworkSolutions in 1997. And I renewed this domain until April 2019. Someone hacked into my account and did an illegal transfer to “Internet Domain Service BS Corp”. Now this domain name is not under my name anymore, Is there a legal way to get it back?

This is what Yakov looks like if you need to add him to the Most Wanted Broker List

Yakov could have been brokering it for whoever stole it without knowledge that it was stolen. When the thief lowered the price enough, Yakov could have purchased it.

Cool the jets on targeting him until we know the full story.

Thanks @Addison - so per https://www.namepros.com/threads/mcv-com.1042181/ the domain was in Yakov's possession on 9/22/2017 and according to what he said, the "seller" had recently acquired it.

Even without this thread here, the selling price was suspiciously low. But keep in mind that if that's what the "seller" wanted, that's what the broker asked for.

Now, that's an interesting argument to ponder: does a capable broker get you the bare minimum for a domain asset? Or tries to max out your ROI?

I was willing to pay his escrow fees, and pay him an extra $1K more than he wanted, and still that wasn't enough. I done a few deals in my time, and something was not right. I was testing him at the same time.

It was a good domain, but maybe fair enough he needed money like yesterday, escrow under the best circumstances these days can take 2-3 days.

I hope it all gets sorted out seems like enom, and netsol always have these 3L stolen dilemmas.

Selling a valuable asset involves a matching price. LLL com's are by default valuable.
When a broker is selling such an asset at low price, it means something is fishy.
In other words: I'd buy valuable domains directly from the owner only, and after doing due diligence.

Hello.

Virtual Estate, LLC has, what is believed, rightfully purchased the domain name MCV.COM on September 15, 2017

Virtual Estate,LLC has been served a FOA notice by Internetbs.net and has submitted all documents related to the purchase of the domain name, including but not limited to payment receipt, record of negotiations and ids.

Virtual Estate, LLC is over a decade old domain name investment firm and has done thorough dud diligence when purchasing the domain name MCV.COM

The domain name MCV.COM has been taken off market for the time of the investigation.

Kind regards,

DomainNameBroker.com

Are you able to provide details as to how you acquired the domain and who from?

That's a great question that he'd hopefully be able to answer. Brokering stolen assets isn't a badge of honor, brokers need to verify ownership etc. but overall they follow the "orders" of the seller regarding price and method of sale.

I tried to summarize here:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/do...y-account-mcv-com.1062434/page-2#post-6548192

And @creataweb posted this covering all the various threads:
https://www.namepros.com/search/24088793/?q=mcv.com&o=relevance

There was a consolidations thread he created too, when this mess started last year.

Maybe DNB was a broker first, when price kept going down, we decided to buy the name. Maybe we was encouraging the price drops, to get the name cheap not knowing the name was stolen.

DNB please share the details of previous owner (seller / thief), needs to be outed asap. Hopefully rightful owner will get his/her domain soon.

Sounds like to me that the "thief" may be doing multiple transfers of the domain name in an attempt to cover their tracks...:cautious:

He should have the email receipt of when he renewed the domain name. Having possession of that receipt as evidence will offer a huge argument for his defense. Produce the renewal email receipt and that will stop all the twist and turns .....(y)
