Hi guys,
Its been 15 days since I started domaining and I have never sold a domain before , so this question.
I recieved a offer of 500$ for one of my domain names through my landing page yesterday.
I replied to the offer accepting it and asked the buyer for the details to proceed further.
It's been more than 24 hours since I replied and I haven't heard from the buyer yet.
Should I send a second email or should I wait for some more time ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I'd wait at least 48 hours and then follow up in this situation

Hope your landing page have an email verification link that your buyer have to open the link to clarified their email address and wait for at least24 hours more.

Thanks for your advice.
I have verified the person who sent the mail through his email address. He is a end user running a similar site.
So I guess, I would wait 24 hours more before following up.

I followed up with a second mail 7 hours back. I can see through streak that he had opened the email 4 times but have not replied back . I guess the sale isn't gonna happen.

What kind of Landing Pages are you using? Just wondering if you can add a Buy-it-Now (BIN) Price to the Landing Page (and the transaction gets setup at a well established site such as SEDO, Escrow.com, etc...)

Perhaps the Buyer does not know how to complete the purchase safely (you said you sent them an email asking for details to proceed further). What type of details did you request, or are you asking because you don't know how to complete the sale (you mentioned you never made a sale before)?

Regards,
DN

I am using a bodis page with a inquiry page landing , I asked for his godaddy email and I'd as well as his PayPal or Payoneer escrow I'd to proceed further.

He might not know why you need his GoDaddy email address (I'm assuming you know he has a GoDaddy account, and you want it to Push the name from your GD Account to his GD Account -- did you explain this is the reason you want his GD email?

Basically, all I am saying is sometimes you need to make the buyer feel as safe as possible. I try to get the money first -- either directly or using an Escrow Service (Escrow.com, Payoneer). After they send the money, I then proceed with the transfer which entails getting their email/account number to do a push, or ask if they want a registrar transfer -- I try for the PUSH always, but sometimes I have to provide the transfer codes for certain buyers).

Maybe if you send him and email saying they can setup the transaction at Escrow.com or Payoneer. And you provide your email or account at those services for him to setup the transaction. He might feel safer doing that way.

There is a chance he simply changed his mind (sometimes this happens too).

DN

I just want to know that, if I set a BIN then the name will automatically transfer after he buys or I will have to manually transfer it .

It depends on the platform you use for the Landing Page with the BIN. I use my own Landers using Efty and when they select the BIN, EFTY will setup the transaction at Escrow.com. But after payment is secured at Escrow.com, it is up to me and the buyer to work out the transfer/push.

There are other platforms that once they purchase at the BIN (and Pay for the name), they will automatically move the Domain Name -- I just haven't used them so perhaps someone else here can comment on those. There might be an extra fee for listing at those other platforms too (just be aware if there is a fee to list on those platforms). They might offer more exposure to potential buyers, but they also cost a little more to do so.

Regards,
DN

Hi guys, i set the landing page to have a BIN and emailed to the buyer. The buyer came through. I delivered the domain and the process is completed.

I added Payoneer escrow for the process. Now it says "Payments for these orders have been released from escrow, but the funds cannot be transferred to you because of missing payment details. Set up your payment details here".

There is a link there which I clicked and it shows:

Payout from Escrow (for sellers)

Payoneer payout preference for USD
Status: Not yet approved
Payout method: iACH Transfer.

There is no option to modify it or anything whatsoever. Please guide me on how to go about it ?
