Hi,
There's a .com domain name I'm interested in which has been registered and unused for years but is now appearing to be in redemption period (until now it was renewed every year):
Registrar URL: xinnet
Registry Expiry Date: 2017-12-XXT00:00:00Z
Registrar: Xin Net Technology Corporation
Domain Status: redemptionPeriod
Name Server: DNS.EXPIRENOTIFICATION.COM
Would you have any recommendation on how to snap it? Shall I wait for it to be back on the market, if ever, by checking regularly? Or would you recommend I set up a domain backorder, and, if so, where? Or something else?
There doesn't seem to be much interest for it, apart from myself...
Many thanks!

Thank you for the quick response: would you recommend I backorder it with the three or I just pick one? I wouldn't want ending up competing with myself... Should I do it now or wait it to be expired?
Reading this other thread on this forum "Backorder companies are catching everything" that mentions DropCatch, it warns against discounted backordering service: am I safe if I pay $59 upfront?

Order on all three. You will only be charged if you actually acquire the domain. If you're familiar with how dropcatching on these platforms, then you're set. If not, a quick primer would be - if you are the only one backordering the domain, you get the domain immediately. If at least another user backorders the domain, then the domain is auctioned (private in the case of NJ and SN and public in the case of DC).

Backorder on all 3. Dropcatch, backorder it immediately (if they allow). On SN and NJ, you might want to wait until close to the drop date. I can try to check and let you know if you're willing to share the domain with me in private.

Thanks again for your help and your kind offer. I am going to read a bit more about SN, DC and NJ and come back here if I have further questions or take up your generous offer.
