many of those places simply put the price they do because they CAN.

some get lucky and sell. most do not.

Domain index is better than some of the other domain valuation websites around. I've just checked and it values ninjas.co at $249 so not sure where you see $13000?

Personally I think it's a good name apart from the extension and worth more than $249 but a lot less than $13000:xf.wink:

my bad - might need an eye test!

it's a nice domain hack. i used to have some of those like spendbit.co.in etc i'm not sure whether their software can see that it's .co.in or it's reading the word coin. If it's the latter then the price is based on sales of domains with the word 'ninjas' and domains with the word 'coin'. Obviously two really good words and coin is massive right now.

Don't think it's worth 13k though, maybe XXXX range to the right buyer.

plz keep in mind there are no better or worse valuation sites.
they are all bad and useless, and should be avoided.

I only use them as to gather info when deciding if to buy.

well that is precisely what I meant. that you should never pay attention to their values. it does not matter if you sell or buy. it'd be a good idea to delete all bookmarks to valuation sites from your browser.

if you need advice how much to sell your domain for.. or buy.. then post appraisal on a forum here. and the replies you'll get from older and more experienced domainers will be better than any sites.

because in the end, there is only one way to know what yoru domains are worth.. which is through experience in domaining and many many hours reading about domaining, there are no quick fixes in domaings... just you, and the time you put into learning about domaining, being directly proportional to yoru success down the road. like just about everything else in life

all the best.

Good to use Appraisals but I see the Appraisals threads are very inactive...Lots of 0 replies....for the domains asking for appraisals...Most ly a reply or two here and there...I dont why,so newbies only have domain valuation sites that can atleast repond with something rather than just get no reply on Appraisal forums.Lol.

no, it is not good to use appraisals sites. as I just said.
however, it is normal for new domainers to think it is good to use them, and not believe the older domainers who say that it is not good to use them. therefore, the discussion we are having now, despite the disagreement, is still completely "normal" and expected. there is a learning curve for all. we learn from our mistakes.

as for few replies on appraisal sites, espcially toward newer domainers, you may simply conclude that most new domainers register domains which have no value (which is also normal for all who just start).. therefore, you may usually conclude that no reply means no value.

but again this does not mean you shoudl then go to valuation sites, it just means you should continue to read and learn, view sale sites especially like namebio... to get some better ideas about people are willing to pay for domains.

what you want to aim for downtheroad aftrer countless hours reading and domaining, is an almost instinctive knowledge of what is or isn't a good domain... and what that domain may sell for.

you know, like when you've been a doctor for 20 years, and you have an idea whats wrong with a new patient just by looking at them or touching a few places.

don't forget to have fun too! whether your doctor or domainer, no fun means you should change jobs! :)

I think what @Afaque khan is saying is that the appraisals here at NPs aren't getting the responses like they used to. I do agree - the Pro appraisal forum is 'dead'. It didn't used to be though.

Also agree that experience is worth it's wait in gold and it's something you can't buy. I've only been domaining since 2014 and I still have trouble placing value sometimes. I often undervalue mine and have sold at lower than i should have or I've let some drop that I really shouldn't have.

the reason most don't bother contributing in the appraisal section;

1 - most of the names are crap
2 - usually new members trying to promote a name they have for sale on the forum.
3 - the OP of the appraisal usually ends up pissed with the appraisal result or tries to argue its value
4 - you should know the value of your own names - that will only come with experience and research - not a bunch of inexperienced people telling you what you want to hear or what it sell for if all the stars were aligned.

Agree with most of this but I don't mean the 'free' appraisals section - I mean the paid 'Pro' section (Paid user or VIP) the section is dead at the moment.
