Reason #1

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
$xx lol what a waste of time. I'd rather drop it than waste time with that nonsense.

They sense your need and are making you pay (lowering price)

Reason #2
Some end-users are truly stupid.

@johname was correct, your "needs" are too clear and your unable to negotiate rationally as he can toy with your emotions as you "need" the money. In the next negotiation, assume nothing about the end user and his intellect. Word of caution > responding to the end user "why don't you buy it" is a net loss to time in your life.

I had an end user contact me recently about a 10-character .COM original registration 2005 domain.

While I thought about asking for more, I only asked for $1500 as sales above that figure are relatively infrequent. He refused to budge over $1000. It is probably best because I decided to raise the price for future inquirers. This was not the first end user inquiry on this domain.

Meanwhile at work I am working on a $XX million finance deal and a separate small six-figure finance deal. As a financial professional, I see how much real companies spend to run a business. Yet when it comes to domains, end users seem to think they are paying for office supplies - not branding a business for the next decade.

End users buy most of my domains and they pay more than domainers.

You’ll find lowball offers from both end users and domainers just when the domainers do it they tend to anonymize themselves so you think they’re end users.

End users are our main source of income. Hating the 50% that are ignorant of what makes a good domain is pointless and a waste of time. Best is to wish them well, tell them to read up on domains and then tell them to come back when they have joined the other 50% that actually know the value of a good domain.

My personal favorite is $19.50 offer (not even $20) logged once for one of domains I had under uniregistry brokerage.
I also wish domainers could stop "playing" endusers, they are wasting _their_ time to begin with, and anybody with domaining experience can detect this in most cases. For example, one domainer likes to write long texts with many details on how they will go to their bank tommorrow to ask for a loan, that they already spoke with and received OK from their "partners" to do so, and that all they need now is to receive a small 50% discount in current negotiations because of the above. There are many more detection criterias, but I would not list them all on a public domainers forum though :)

Recently got a $30. offer at DynaDot marketplace for a pronounceable real word four letter dot com of mine. lol That takes the cake, the most ridiculous offer received in a decade and a half.
