Hello guys!

I'd like to know what makes this domain (fitnessgirl.com) so especial that his actual owner thinks it costs $ 69K .
It was $1K one or two years ago.
And I thought it was expensive.
This domain have been used in adult promotion. So, it has not a serious value if you will use for something 'corrrect'.

Is there any way to buy domains in a REAL price? Or the owner can insert the price he thinks it values and you need to wait?

Tks!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
To me this is a golden name and worth the monies

Why to buy a domain for $1K if you can buy another .SOMETHING for $7 ?

Are you serious?

It is an abuse to ask 69K for a domain. Sure it will not be sold.

Are you a kind of reseller of domains? Why do you think this price is correct?

It will sell easy enough at that price

As most potential buyers are multimillionaire s

Domain names are like paintings

You can buy a cheap one for £5 and think you've got a bargain

But serious players in the art world and there are many don't mind paying £20m+ for a painting

A domain is only worth what a person is willing to pay for it but it is worth whatever a person is prepared to pay for it

It's only a matter of time before someone buys this domain name and it's price will be listed in dnjournal at the price the person paid

And anyone that's been on here for over a year or so know exactly who this domain would suit and I reckon they would pay the asking price because the alternative they may want isn't for sale at any price making 69k cheap

Not expensive for the buyer who sees its real beauty and profitability to his own business or whatever purpose he has in mind.

In this specific case, we have a domain that it is a .COM but it has a bad history and a lot of others options.

If there is a BIG company to open a BIG clothers industry to sell 'fitness products' maybe it could buy this domain. Or all others too.

But we have others .xxx options.

And in my experience, I saw a lot of times domains .NET or .ORG in front of .COM in SEARCH engines.
So, I do not know if it is 'so king' like that nowadays.

in short;

dot COM = go visit fitnessgirldotcom, nope, fitnessgirl is just enought
dot Options = go visit fitnessgirldotoptions, only way

Advertising

People automatically assume your domain name ending with COM
With dot Options you're forced in repetition effect also known as Cognitive effect (more money for advertising)

> Learn more about Brand vs Branding vs Advertising

Reputation

The domain name can be used for specific sector and/or attract specific mindset (Adult fitness vs naked fitness franchise. The trend of naked tourism is booming. Do your DD).

History

It doesn't mean you can't tell your advertising story in an interesting way. (Feel misused? Work Out Now!)

Vision

The brand vision is "aspirational" and consist of its mission, vision and values. Emerging market strategy.

Price

The name may target a specific sector & tag a specific price. Find your niche and spend some time in the stock market and you'll know that "value" and "price" are two different measures arrived at by different means.

Is it just me, or does it just not make sense to use FitnessGirl as an adult site, unless you're talking about some kind of adult movie where the plot involves a fitness instructor being inappropriate with her male clientele?

I mean, I can have a pretty dirteh teen mind, but I just can't think anything really dirty about "Fitness" and "girl", even in a sentence. It all sounds so lame: "HEY U WANNA FITNESS TOGETHER HEH EHHEHEH?" <-- O_o "Look at that girl, she's definitely into FITNESS" (n). but, u know. Jaco is the expert in these matters -- so maybe he can come up with something really creative XD XD:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

No offense @Jv1999
OP question was "the domain appeared to be used for a x rated site" so I keep the words inside the box. The name can be u$ed for general fitness activities and girls only fitness franchise without any problems. The price tag is just fluctuation of the mind blurred with the picture of ex adult content. Still I would prefer FitnessGirls.com

There are many domain names that sell on Sedo or NameJet for a high price and I wonder, why did someone pay that much for that domain? And I'm talking about a SALE, not just a price someone is trying to sell the domain for. Again - as many others have said, a domain name's price is what someone is willing to pay for it. You're not going to find a book that tells you the value of every domain name!

Your whining salty.

2 word .coms are special? Really? And why you can not see it in the first 10 pages of google?

Are you really a 'specialist' in domain?

Let's wait if he will sell it for $1K .

In any market you can ask anything for your product. A car, for example. But if you have others cars for a price and you want 100x this price... (ah, the 'fitnessgirl.com' is unique).. Really? So, maybe we can not use others domains (.net .org .br ....) for the same niche. Google will not see them.
Are you a specialist in domain or in SEO?

When I post here I imagined people with experience could say:
- this domain has this value.

And not.. 'he can ask anything'.

You do not use parameters. It is just opinion.
What any domain need is not just traffic, but high interest in the domain by at least only one particular end user: and you seem to be the only person so much interested in the name and that is why you have being monitoring the name for sometime now and to the extent of bringing the matter here for domainers, I may even say you registered in this forum simply because of the name.

Look! If you like any name it is better to buy it at your best, and not by bringing it for any debate, if not you may not get it again.

FitnessGirl is a brandable and can also be for a porn site. Forget about saying it has been used for porn, the domain is best use as porn site. IMO.

Guys, I respect your opinion.

But a price (in my mind) for something needs to have a 'value' involved. And this domain HAS NOT.
....

And all that means is that you're NOT going to be buying it at that price. On the other hand, as someone else alluded to, if the owner really wants to sell it and doesn't get what they're asking, then they'll never sell it or lower the price until it does.

That was exactly my thought, only you expressed it better.

food babe and yoga_girl on insta are catchy.

"girl" or "babe" are just so much more valuable than most common words

Fitness is a huge industry nowadays and there are millions of "fitness girls" out there...

69K sounds over the top to me, but who knows?!

Another thing to consider: the hashtag #fitnessgirl has over 9m results on Instagram. I didn't check Twitter etc..

Ideally, you will want to own the .com and the social media handles.

Combined with post#29:
https://www.namepros.com/posts/6513784/

Whoever bought it for $1k or less had a good deal.
