omelet

Ok I will do
Ethan G.
at 22:42, Dec 6:
So to renew these threee

omelet
at 22:42, Dec 6:
since .com, .ca, .co, .company, all of the, are 42 days
Ethan G.
at 22:42, Dec 6:
That would be $330.51
Ethan G.
at 22:42, Dec 6:
With redemption fees, and renewal for 1 yar.
Ethan G.
at 22:42, Dec 6:
All of the domains are just the same.
omelet
at 22:42, Dec 6:
can u please remove the redumption fee for me?
Ethan G.
at 22:42, Dec 6:
It just that the redemption fee applies on the 19th day upon expiration
omelet
at 22:43, Dec 6:
if it is 330.51, I really have no money to renew,,,,have to let them expired and go..
omelet
at 22:43, Dec 6:
if you can help me remove the redumption fee this time, I can renew them right away
omelet
at 22:44, Dec 6:
I think thats win win
Ethan G.
at 22:44, Dec 6:
Unfortunately, we can't remove that
Ethan G.
at 22:44, Dec 6:
But let me check the best I can do to at least lessen the cost
omelet
at 22:45, Dec 6:
thank you
Ethan G.
at 22:47, Dec 6:
I checked this with my manager and he said that our discount aren't working for .STUDIO domains as those domains are Generic top-level domain.
omelet
at 22:48, Dec 6:
if that is the case, I have no solution but to withdraw the names....
omelet
at 22:49, Dec 6:
thats too sad
Ethan G.
at 22:49, Dec 6:
Sorry to hear that, what I could recommend is
Ethan G.
at 22:49, Dec 6:
To wait for them to be released back in our front of site
Ethan G.
at 22:49, Dec 6:
And that would take 90 days upon expirtaion
omelet
at 22:49, Dec 6:
can u please help me get the auth code?
omelet
at 22:50, Dec 6:
so that I can transfer away
Ethan G.
at 22:51, Dec 6:
The domain were already on expired domains means you can transfer them anymore unless you renew them
omelet
at 22:51, Dec 6:
expired domain can still transferred. i know that's common sense
Ethan G.
at 22:51, Dec 6:
The domain were already on expired domains means you can't transfer them anymore unless you renew them
Ethan G.
at 22:51, Dec 6:

Wait, I'll send you a link
Ethan G.
at 22:52, Dec 6:
https://ph.godaddy.com/help/transferring-expired-domain-names-5019
Ethan G.
at 22:53, Dec 6:
It says there "You must complete the transfer during its grace period before the domain name falls into "redemption," which is when the domain name begins its transfer back to the registry for someone else to register it"
omelet
at 22:53, Dec 6:
can u give me 50% off the redemption fee?
omelet
at 22:54, Dec 6:
why not, godaddy can still make half of the redemption fee
Ethan G.
at 22:55, Dec 6:
We could do that for common domain names, like .com , .net , org and etc. not just with .Studio as that is considered as special domain, and trust me I checked this with my manager and he said that there's no code working on .studio domains for redemption and I'm really sorry about that
omelet
at 22:56, Dec 6:
ok
Ethan G.
at 22:58, Dec 6:
Thanks for understanding, so just to verify, would you still want to proceed in renewing these domain names/
omelet
at 22:58, Dec 6:
which one? .studio?
Ethan G.
at 22:59, Dec 6:
Yes,
omelet
at 22:59, Dec 6:
no
Ethan G.
at 23:00, Dec 6:
OH I see, but incase you consider just chat us back when y ou're ready.
Ethan G.
at 23:00, Dec 6:
Anything else for today?
omelet
at 23:01, Dec 6:
ready for what
omelet
at 23:02, Dec 6:
chat back can get discount?
Ethan G.
at 23:02, Dec 6:
Oh I mean, when you re-consider to renew them
omelet
at 23:02, Dec 6:
if I consider to renew them,,,can u give discount?
Ethan G.
at 23:03, Dec 6:
With the redemption fee, we can't. But incase you renew them after you redeem them then yes.
omelet
at 23:04, Dec 6:
redeem?
omelet
at 23:04, Dec 6:
If I renew them, then what s the benefit
Ethan G.
at 23:04, Dec 6:
Redeem means restore them,
Ethan G.
at 23:04, Dec 6:
Benefit of renewing them, you would be able to use them again
omelet
at 23:05, Dec 6:
i dont understand. if I renew them, do I have to chat with you again?
omelet
at 23:06, Dec 6:
"But incase you renew them after you redeem them then yes." then yes for what
Ethan G.
at 23:06, Dec 6:
You can renew them by yourself with the redemption fee of $80.00 each
Ethan G.
at 23:07, Dec 6:
That means, after you pay the redemption fee and renews them again, I would be able to give you discount, not just now as our discount codes aren't working with .studion redemption fees.

omelet
at 23:08, Dec 6:
give me discount for which part? future renew? or what
Ethan G.
at 23:08, Dec 6:
Yes, future renewals.
omelet
at 23:08, Dec 6:
how much
Ethan G.
at 23:09, Dec 6:
Depends what available discount we do have that time, just can't guarantee how much but least would be 15% OFF
omelet
at 23:10, Dec 6:
what 's the regular renew fee?
omelet
at 23:11, Dec 6:
http://www.rwgusa.com/faq_studio_Renew-Grace-Period.htm
omelet
at 23:11, Dec 6:
I checked .studio name grace period is 40 days
omelet
at 23:11, Dec 6:
you lie
omelet
at 23:12, Dec 6:
Grace period for .studio domain name? In accordance with ICANN, Generic Top Level Domains (gTLD) have a 40 day "Grace period" in which a domain name can be renewed without incurring an additional fee. Its important to note however that cpr144449003101 your domain will no longer resolve on the day it expires. After the 40 day grace period, there is a 30 day "Redemption Period" in which you can renew your domain name for an additional $150 USD.
omelet
at 23:12, Dec 6:
do you want me to report your case to namepros? let all the people know how bad you are?
Ethan G.
at 23:13, Dec 6:
That's with ICANN , and you're with Godaddy.
omelet

Ethan G.

According to ICANN, my three domains are still within grace period. that's why I didnt renew them that fast, I did some research before.

Today when I try to renew the names, godaddy said I need to pay redemption fee around $300+. But the fact is that, according to ICANN rules, my names still good to renew or transfer

TL:DR - the names are: potato.studio, meow.studio, broccoli.studio

Even if you can transfer out for $17, that would be a waste of $51. Drop them : smile : Drop them like a Hot Potato.

dot studio has a single sale recorded at NameBio - and one that is far superior to the choices above
design.studio 15,000 USD 2017-01-12 Rightside

no i m not arguing with you too, sir
omelet
at 23:31, Dec 6:
just talked to uniregistry, namecheap, dynadot, netfirms, all of them have 40 days as grace
omelet
at 23:31, Dec 6:
Yes
omelet, we also have 40 days
omelet
at 23:32, Dec 6:
but why you charge me
omelet
at 23:32, Dec 6:
you said 18 days, not 40 days, i m confused
omelet
at 23:32, Dec 6:
is it 40 days or 18 days
Ethan G.
at 23:32, Dec 6:
Let me explain it again,
Ethan G.
at 23:34, Dec 6:
The domain has 40 days grace period which where you can renew it ,
Ethan G.
at 23:35, Dec 6:
And from day 1 to day 18 - No redemption fee
Ethan G.
at 23:35, Dec 6:
Day 19 to Day 40 - With redemption fee of $80.00
Ethan G.
at 23:35, Dec 6:
Does it make sense?
omelet
at 23:35, Dec 6:
grace period = no redemption fee
rundong
at 23:35, Dec 6:
redemption fee = not a grace period any more
Ethan G.
at 23:36, Dec 6:
That's your description of grace period,
Ethan G.
at 23:36, Dec 6:
this article https://ph.godaddy.com/help/what-happens-after-domain-names-expire-6700 explains it all
Ethan G.
at 23:36, Dec 6:
That's godaddy process after the domain expires,
Ethan G.
at 23:36, Dec 6:
And I'm just explaining it to you
omelet
at 23:37, Dec 6:
if you go back to out chat, in the beginning, you said grace period is 18 days. now you said 40 days
omelet
at 23:37, Dec 6:
conflict or not
Ethan G.
at 23:37, Dec 6:
I went back
Ethan G.
at 23:37, Dec 6:
And here's what I've said
Ethan G.
at 23:38, Dec 6:
" And grace period you have upon expiration to renew them without any redemption fee is 18 days
11:39am
And on the 19th day of expiration, ICANN applies $80.00 redemption fee on the for each domain "
omelet
at 23:40, Dec 6:
Grace period for .studio domain name? In accordance with ICANN, Generic Top Level Domains (gTLD) have a 40 day "Grace period" in which a domain name can be renewed without incurring an additional fee.
omelet
at 23:42, Dec 6:
https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/udrp-rules-2015-03-11-en
Ethan G.
at 23:43, Dec 6:
I don't see it with the link you gave me
omelet
at 23:44, Dec 6:
The Redemption Period occurs approximately 30 days after a domain has reached its expiration date. For 30 days after the expiration date the domain will be available for renewal during a grace period. After the 30 day grace period, the domain will enter a hold period known as the Redemption Period for another 30 days.
omelet
at 23:44, Dec 6:
the definitely distinguish grace period and redemption period., they are different
Ethan G.
at 23:45, Dec 6:
I don't what to say anymore, but if you believe that compare to what I am saying
Ethan G.
at 23:45, Dec 6:
You may call ICANN instead,
Ethan G.
at 23:45, Dec 6:
And try to renew the domain with them
Ethan G.
at 23:46, Dec 6:
My statement wouldn't be changed Rundong.
Ethan G.
at 23:46, Dec 6:Redemption fee still applies.

I dont mind how much to renew. I just want to double confirm that according to ICANN, the grace period for .studio is 40 days. And my names still in grace period, why cannot I renew or transfer?

I think godaddy staff doesn;'t quite understand what is:
- grace period
- redemption period

he said grace period include redemption period:

"
...
The domain has 40 days grace period which where you can renew it ,
Ethan G.
at 23:35, Dec 6:
And from day 1 to day 18 - No redemption fee

Hi, Omelet. This is Marisa, one of the supervisors for GoDaddy. Give me a few minutes while I review your conversation with the previous agent.
Omelet
at 23:57, Dec 6:
OK
Omelet
at 23:57, Dec 6:
thanks
Omelet
at 23:58, Dec 6:
my names still in grace period according to ICANN rules, which is 40 days.
Omelet
at 23:58, Dec 6:
please remember I will copy all of our chat and I will keep them as my evidence to protect my right
Marisa
at 0:06, Dec 7:
The 40 days is the ICANN grace period, we have different timelines, this is GoDaddy. If you wish to redeem your domain names though it would be $80 redemption fee + renewal fee per domain name. We don't have a way to waive the fee, though as an advice, it's better to renew domain names on time to avoid the redemption fee.
Omelet
at 0:08, Dec 7:
what's definition and difference meaning of grace period and redemption period
Omelet
at 0:09, Dec 7:
according to your staff, you dont really know what's the meaning of them and difference and relations
Omelet
at 0:09, Dec 7:
I need to talk to you supervisor, miss, you are not the one I want to talk
Marisa
at 0:10, Dec 7:
You're already talking to a supervisor, Omelet. Grace period is the time we provide clients to renew their domain without the redemption fee. Redemption period explains itself, you can renew the domain but with the redemption fee of $80.
Omelet
at 0:10, Dec 7:
then you grace period is 18 days?
Marisa
at 0:11, Dec 7:
Now, if you don't wish to pay the redemption fee to renew the domain names, there is nothing we can do. I'm letting you know that for you to renew the domain names it you have to pay the $80 redemption fee per domain name.
at 0:11, Dec 7:
if that is the case, you are against ICANN rules
Omelet
at 0:11, Dec 7:
is your grace period 18 days or 40 days
Marisa
at 0:11, Dec 7:
As mentioned, we have our own timeframes.
Omelet
at 0:12, Dec 7:
just tell me 18 days or 40 days
Marisa
at 0:12, Dec 7:
The grace period has been mentioned to you before, repeatedly.
Marisa
at 0:12, Dec 7:
18 days
Omelet
at 0:12, Dec 7:
OK. then your answer is different from the previous staff
Omelet
at 0:12, Dec 7:
he said you also have 40 days as grace period
Marisa
at 0:12, Dec 7:
No. The agent explained to you that the grace period is 18 days.
Omelet
at 0:12, Dec 7:
Ethan G. at 23:35, Dec 6: The domain has 40 days grace period which where you can renew it , Ethan G. at 23:35, Dec 6: And from day 1 to day 18 - No redemption fee Ethan G. at 23:35, Dec 6: Day 19 to Day 40 - With redemption fee of $80.00"
Omelet
at 0:13, Dec 7:
if yo go back to our record, you know he said you also have 40 days as grace period
Omelet
at 0:13, Dec 7:
but if you say your grace period is 18 days, then you are agains ICANN rules
Omelet
at 0:14, Dec 7:
But you can redeem the domain for up to day 42 with the redemption fee. Here is the timeframe again for you to read:
https://www.godaddy.com/help/what-happens-after-domain-names-expire-6700

Marisa
at 0:14, Dec 7:
Stop mentioning ICANN, I've told you that the domains timeframe we have is different.

Marisa
at 0:14, Dec 7:
Either you can renew the domains with the redemption fee
Marisa
at 0:14, Dec 7:
Or let them go
Marisa
at 0:14, Dec 7:
Those are your two options.
Marisa
at 0:14, Dec 7:
It's up to you,
Omelet
at 0:14, Dec 7:I know I can pay redemption fee and then renew it. I am not talking about that part. I am talking about your against rules

Marisa
at 0:15, Dec 7:
I've told you that the domains timeframe we have is different.

Marisa
at 0:17, Dec 7:
I'm not angry, but the conversation is going on circles and you don't wish to accept the fact that we have different timeframes. Not everything you wish to happen, happens simply because you want it to happen. Now, is there anything else aside from this, Omelet?
Omelet
at 0:18, Dec 7:
I only know you staff between each other have differnt answers, not consistent,
Marisa
at 0:19, Dec 7:
Is there anything else aside from this though?
Omelet
at 0:20, Dec 7:
:) I am laughing at you
Marisa
at 0:21, Dec 7:
Well, if there's nothing else. I will be closing this chat now. You can wait until your domain names are available to the public again and register them regularly. Have a great rest of your day, Omelet

I think I got an email not long ago that as of December 4, the redemption period will be change...

"We are making a change to our domain name expiry process and wanted to give you enough notice to make decisions on your portfolio. GoDaddy is changing the domain renewal timeline from 42 to 30 days for most domains. Based on our research, less than 1% of our customers renew after 30 days.

Starting Dec 4, the following changes will happen to expired domain names:

â–ª After Day 5 of expiration, DNS, email, hosting, redirecting and any other DNS-dependent services will be interrupted and stop working.
â–ª After Day 30 of expiration, domain names are no longer able to be renewed or transferred away."

Yes, if you would like to transfer your existing domain name which is expired then you can't, First you need to renew that particular domain then you would be able to transfer that domain on to another host or registrar.
