Hey guys, I've never really tried reaching out to potential end-users to sell my domains, I'm not even sure how I would go about doing that lol. From reading various posts on here, it appears that this method usually works best for domains that already have plenty of potential end users.
So I have this domain below that I believe would be great for outbound emails.

The domain: cronos [dot] org

Reason I'm thinking outbound might be worth a try:

- Just from Googling a bit, there appears to be a sh*t ton of companies worldwide named 'Cronos', also appears on plenty of pages on Facebook and LinkedIn.
- taken in over 25 extensions (including all popular ones)
- 9 year old
- cronos.info sold for $4,200 in 2009

What do you guys think? Is this a domain I should try to sell through outbound emails? If so where do I begin??
Any advice is greatly appreciated :xf.smile:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You can give it a try, even though .org tend to attract organisations rather than businesses. Yeah, you know this already.

Personally, I would make the e-mail short. If they feel that they need the name and the price is right, they will reply. Too long sale pitches might even be counterproductive.

Stay short and professional. Tip: Copy your LinkedIn profile link in your e-mail signature.

But I mean how do you know who to send the email to? I tried looking up a few companies, even found a couple of non-profit organizations but I don't know how to contact the decision makers. If I send the email through the contact page email, won't it just end up in the hands of support staff?

Bean,

have you ever got inbound queries for cronos.org?

In aqny case, it seems to me that a such good word cronos could get inflated, diminished via outbond marketing.

If the company / organization is professional enough, they should redirect the e-mail to the right person / position, if using the form. Otherwise, try to contact marketing dep, if any. If a small company, maybe the CEO directly.

Unfortunately I haven't received any email inquiries yet. I purchased this domain like 3 months ago. I guess I could wait a little :)

There are a few methods to finding the right persons and contact information. I target the executive team in my outbound emails, or if it's a small company figure who the owner is. They can be found on the "About Us" page typically. Linkedin is a great resource as well for identifying the executive team members.

Once I've found the decision makers names I'll do a Google search in the below format...

"@companyname.com" John Smith email

Usually after scrolling through a few pages of results you get lucky and find the person email address. Or sometimes you're at least able to determine the company's email format and put it together from the information you already have... [email protected]. Another method is to run a whois query and review the results. Usually this only produces a contact and email address with smaller companies as large corporations with either have privacy enabled or some random IT contact as the registrant.

Good luck in your efforts!

All of these domains point to the same website located at cronos-groep.be. I guess they bought off all the related .org just to protect their brand. I've found 2 email addresses on the contacts page, under 'The team behind Cronos Group'. I'll trying sending to one of them, thanks :)

When we do outbound possibility of sales increases manifold however you would never get the price which you would get via inbound.

That being said i would personally suggested you to do outbound for this one.

When you do outbound you are actually going out to the real buyers than investors/speculators.

If your sales pitch is good, you would get the right value. More buyers means better the chance. If not, be ready to reduce the price and move on.
