Cryptocurrency is a hot topic amongst investors. With Bitcoin surpassing $10,000 and Ethereum nudging $500 in recent weeks, the attraction of the digital currency industry is undeniable. This attraction has lead many domainers to register and acquire cryptocurrency related domain names in 2017. Here, we take a look at five great cryptocurrency-related domain names that are advertised as "for sale" right now.

These are domain names that are either listed for sale by a broker or host a web page that specifically states that the domain name is for sale.

Token.com

Owned by Minneapolis-based Token Media, Token.com was the company's home on the Web until recently when Token Media switched to TokenMedia.com. The Token.com domain currently displays a "for sale" notice and according to Elliot Silver (@EJS) of DomainInvesting.com, the name is being brokered by Ali Zandi (@Ali) of Starfire Holdings.

According to a website called "MasterTheCrypto",
Tokens are a representation of a particular asset or utility, that usually resides on top of another blockchain

The value of the Token.com domain has no doubt increased rapidly thanks to the adoption of the "Token" term within the cryptocurrency community.

Bit.com

This three-letter, one-word .COM has always held value but the value of the domain will have increased in the last couple of years thanks to fresh interest from the cryptocurrency industry. The term has been used in cryptography for many years.

A simple Google search shows the current popularity of the word, with hundreds of websites using the "bit" keyword. Only one, however, can own Bit.com.

The domain is currently being brokered by Evergreen, run by industry veteran Adam Strong (@strong) and Jen Sale (@Jen Sale).

Ethereum.com

Ethereum is an open source public blockchain that has been in the news in recent months, thanks largely to the success of its ETH coin, which is currently the second most valuable coin behind Bitcoin.

Earlier this year, broker Sharjil Saleem (@Sharjil) announced that he sold ETH.com for $2 million, but the owner of Ethereum.com has their sights set higher with the listed reserve price at $10 million. According to the website hosted on Ethereum.com, the current highest offer is $7.2 million.

LTC.com

Sharjil Saleem (@Sharjil), mentioned above for his seven-figure sale of ETH.com, is also brokering the three-letter domain LTC.com.

LTC is Litecoin's popular cryptocurrency that is currently sitting at around $100 per LTC. Sharjil looks to have posted the domain for sale in a recent Flippa auction that reached a price of $110,000 but remained unsold.

Altcoin.com

"Altcoin" is the term given to alternative cryptocurrencies that launched after the success of Bitcoin. The Altcoin.com domain, registered in 2011, was previously owned by a Dutch company before the domain sold to Josh Schoen (@jstenn13) of UltraDomains.com earlier this year.

Altcoin investment is a hot topic that makes this domain valuable in today's market.

Ethereum. Com... Why not take the $7.2 million?

I'd have to go with AltCoin.com, only because I have the hyphen version - Alt-Coin.com, and hope there's 'some kind' of small coattail value in it. :)

Ethereum. Com... Why not take the $7.2 million?

That’s assuming it’s a real, verifiable offer. We can only report on what is published on Ethereum.com :)

I agree calling bullshit on Ethereum.com at $7.2 and prancing the offer, does an offer from [email protected] constitute an offer, who is going to fall for that kInd if click bait.

What about Pirecoin.com?

Ethereum.com is known to have certain trademark issues at play, so someone is offering $7.2M, and you have tm issues at play, and your asking $10M, and your going to dangle their offer like it’s a petty shiny object, good one. I can’t see the brokers going to the owners, and them shooting that down.

I have been offered $999,999,999 on worse domains if we are playing that game:

According to the website hosted on Ethereum.com, the current highest offer is $7.2 million.

They better take the 7.2...it wont go much higher and as soon as a large (think gross $) country bans or limits crypto, it will plummet in value. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of crypto currencies but the big boy banks don't and they would like to see it dialed back...it is cutting into their bottom line.

Exactly baking, and see fee structures is a monopoly, they are not going to give it up without a fight.

Bit for me; although I like LTC.com and Ethereum.com.

Bit.com and LTC.com are most valuable because they are short domains.

3L domain names tend to hold more value even with top newgTLDs like, BTC.website!
