Just adding:

As some of you probably know, I have bought A LOT of new gTLDs the last 3,5 years and probably dropped ≈75% of the ones I did not sell. However, this speculation has been profitable since early 2015.

I think right answer would be ZERO. Looks like 60% agree. I hope its close to 99% in some days.

Many, but not all, domainers are concentrating in buying the ”wrong” combinations of keywords and TLD. It’s like Wi.fi. A great combo of keyword and TLD that forms a kind of hack. Just as it should be with new gTLDs.

Just compare with my very recent sale of Biz dot community. If you actually search ”bizcommunity” you’ll notice that it’s taken in lots and lots of extensions. That is why this domain sold. Not becuause of ”biz” neither because of the extension ”community”, but a combination of both. It is actually kind of simple. Logic...

As this should not be my ego-trip-thread, I would be very happy if someone else would like to share their sale stories or / and thoughts. How do you market your new gTLDs? Do you agree on my take on the keyword + TLD combination importance? Any ideas are appreciated, also negative ones.

Personally, I do mostly rely on inbound sales. I actually think it MIGHT be to early to start the outbound marketing at this time, regarding new gTLDs. Not so many are aware of them yet. But maybe in a year or two?! What is your take on this?

I've got 500+ names and 0 sales. I turn down xxx and low xxxx offers. Flipping for a couple hundred dollars isn't really my thing. I prefer to be patient and see where we are a few years down the line.

I know you mentioned a couple of these names in the thread, but can you list a few more? What extensions in particular have been most profitable for you?

marketing: Nil, other than what's in my sig. But that's just for awareness sake. I want to keep most of my new G's under the radar for a least a few more years. So same for me, all inbound.

keyword + TLD: Pretty much. This is exactly how I see them. I envision keyword+TLD=brand/business name. You just can't get the same type of URL match to your brand with a .com. In essence, the business IS the URL, and vice-versa.

take on outbound: It's never too early to raise awareness. Although many might not be ready, at least you've planted the seed. You just might not get the value you are looking for, though.

Nice job on all those sales- superb! I think you've single-handedly spread more G gospel than all the registries combined.

Sure. A few that I’ve sold:

- Plastic .cards
- Chess .xyz
- Religions .exposed
- Craft .vodka
- Iam .blue
- Asia .center
- Broker .one
- A .domains
- Newyork .credit
- Share .work
- Pattaya .dentist
- Enjoy .wales
- Lisa .club
- Traveling .guide
- Conference .expert
- Organic .yoga
- Meat .delivery
- Arkansas .business
- Johannesburg .tips
- Like .bike
- Yacht .website
- Trend .media
- V .builders
- Tunis .city
- Gym .uno

As you can see, I choose to list 25 totally different extensions. Any TLD can sell if it mix up well and makes sense with the keyword. Not all domains above are great (or even good) but they all found a buyer.

Thanks for sharing some of your names that have sold. Are end users emailing you asking if the domain is for sale, or are you selling them on a marketplace like Sedo or Afternic?

Both! Own landing pages and a few market places.
