status-cantfix-or-wontfix Feature Suggestion: GIF Avatars

Yes, we used to support them. A few years ago, we decided they're too distracting in avatars (Which appear on the sidebar and other places), and we disabled their support. They distract from the titles and important text that we want to be the focal point.

GIFs are still supported in posts but not avatars.

If the team decides to revisit this, I would like to add if it was included in paid membership, then I would be a buyer. It's not that I don't want to support NP monetarily, but as is (unless I need to hold more auctions) I do not see the value in the badges or other perks. As small as it may be, GIFs would be the tipping point. And when other members see a GIF, they might want one to. Will they want one enough to become a paid member? IDK.
