Augmented Reality (AR) domains

Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

ar+
advert
adverts
billboard
billboards
registrar

There are still a lot of possibilities available, so I thought I'd share this so you can also get a piece of the action :santa:

Apple now sells a dissectable AR teddy bear named Parker

Children’s start-up Seedling has released an adorable modern take on the classic teddy bear — one that interacts with your iOS device and uses augmented reality. You can also kinda dissect it, or at least see its guts and bones through an accompanying app which is cool. The company claims Parker is the world’s first AR teddy bear, and it’s all plush, meaning there are no cameras, batteries, or other electronics embedded in the toy. Instead, children can use wooden accessories included with the bear to interact with it via an iOS device.

Accessories include a thermometer, stethescope, x-ray bibs, a spoon, and a medicine bottle. The toy is designed as a doctor play product that helps children learn STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) skills through games and puzzles. Seedling says each time an ailment is cured or a problem is solved, Parker’s happiness levels increase, unlocking more AR features that can be viewed through what’s called a magic camera on the app. AR experiences include building an undersea garden or a mushroom forest, and more features can be unlocked the more Parker is played with.

American Airlines Use ARKit For AR Wayfinding

The launch of Apple’s ARKit has opened up several new possibilities when it comes to creating or improving augmented reality (AR) applications. Groove Jones has been working with Locus Labs and American Airlines to create an AR app for navigation.

American Airlines are one of the biggest airlines in the USA, offering flights to thousands of people every day. As such, airports can be large, crowded and confusing, particularly if you’re never visited that location before. The ARKit-powered American Airlines app provides a solution, by offering an AR overlay that can point the way to important places such as the check-in desk, security checkpoint, or even provide recommendation for food and drink and guide the user to those areas.

How Augmented Reality Makes Advertising Fun Again

What was the last ad that you saw? Or at least the last ad that you remember seeing? Why did this advertising stick with you? Did you share it with your friends? Did you talk about it with you co-workers?

Consumers today are bombarded with thousands of ad messages daily. And with all of this noise, it is virtually impossible for us to pay any attention to these messages. This is even more true when that message is boring. Today, consumers choose what they want to watch and where they watch it. The same holds true for advertising. A recent study titled “74% of digital natives tired of brands shouting at them” found that 16-39 year olds stop using social networks when they feel like they are just targets for advertising. Whether on social channels or across the web, we all know how to ignore boring ads and pay attention to the content that is interesting to us.

Consumers Are Looking For Experiences, Not Ads.
This is why we have seen dramatic shifts in the digital marketing industry. Major publishers have invested millions into building in-house branded content studios. The New York Times T- Brand Studio, Wall Street Journal Custom Studios, and USA Today GET Creative Studios are just some examples of how publishers are trying to help their brand partners engage consumers with messages that resonate. Simply having a 300×250 IAB unit that is selling a product is not enough anymore. Consumers expect and demand more from their advertising.

Hi Guys,

Congrats to all on these great AR sales!

(NOTE: It may be too soon, but I just checked Namebio and it is not reflecting any of this recent sales activity... If you guys are not bound by an NDA it would be great if you could report your sales - Nice sales like these help everyone in the "AR" vertical - Remember, "a rising tide lifts all boats!" :xf.grin:)

ARcoliseum.com

I am here in L.A. where we love our Coliseum where the Rams currently play (And USC too)... So I see where you are coming from with this reg...

But, honestly, this is still a challenging keyword in that it is (1) Difficult to spell (Many folks put in a double-L); (2) Is unfamiliar to many folks; And (3) has zero sales history (per Namebio.) JMHO, but similar to VR, with AR+kw you want to try to go only with the strongest kw's...

(This said, I wish you GL with your name!)

NBA has an AR basketball shooting game because, why not?

A new breed of apps is overlaying computer images on the real world so you can identify constellations in the sky, organize your future living room and even live in a hit music video. So, the NBA says, why not shoot digital basketballs too?

On Monday, the NBA released a new free iPhoneapp called NBA AR, designed to bring a sort-of basketball experience into fans' homes.

The way it works is that you download an app, which will scan your room and install an "authentic" NBA basketball backboard and hoop. Now, it's not the real kind, but rather a digital version complete with a ball you "flick" to throw at the hoop. Your goal is to sink as many shots as possible in 30 seconds.
