Hi guys,
I'm a newcomer. I decided to become a full-time Domainer this year ( i knew about Domain Industry before, reg some like hobby but since Jan-2018, i started to build my own portfolio like a domainer)
So i started to learn, buying and selling names.
I've spent over $13,000 :smuggrin: to build my portfolio and i'm increasing my budget day by day.
I've worked day to night in last 288 days without vacations and day offs.
I just bought "good names" that reach my criteria, so my portfolio is too small ( 530 domains).:xf.frown:
But today, i feel too tired then i decided to look back what i've done and ... sleep earlier ( i live in Southeast Asia so i have to work at night, too tired you know :inpain:).
Then i just thought that why i didn't post my portfolio and ask other domainers about it.
I hope that i'm doing right.

Since i posted my portfolio, some domainers here PM me to hope that they can buy my names for retail prices.
But i refused all.
As i said, the purpose of this thread is to see how people think about my portfolio. not SELLING them.
If i ant to sell them, i can do OutBound or post them in Auctions, not General Discussion area.
Please read careful before you type.
I'm not working hard from day to night and just want my names would be sold at retail prices.
My time worth more than bought 8$ and sell 35$ or bought 50$ and sold 100$.

Just my opnion, so don't take it personally

You have gone about this like a lot of new domainers do, registering too many names. A lot of new domainers register 500+ or even 1000+ names in the space of a few months and then they suddenly get all the renewals coming up at the same time. At least you have a handful of sales which a lot of domainers don't have, so thats a good sign

There are few names there that could sell, but they are names you might have to wait a while to sell (if they sell at all), and this is where the problem lies. You might sell 2 names for $1500 but that doesnt even cover renewals for the other 498 names, so you have to make a lot of decent sales to come out on top with a nice profit.

Any new domainer needs to read this forum from top to bottom for a few months before even thinking about registering any names. Its a common mistake to go on a registration frenzy because you like the look of a domain, the important thing is to always think of it from a company point of view, not from a domainer angle.

Most of the $13k will be wasted, you are better off buying a few names from existing owners (less than 10 to start) and then try and sell a few, then reinvest that money you make into buying a few more names. Dont go and hand-register names that are avilable, why do you think they are available? With the millions of domainers out there, dont you think someone would have grabbed it for $5 or $10 if it was worth big $$? Its very difficult to find decent names to hand register these days, even if you have been in domaining for years and understand the market.

With 13K, you could have bought some decent names had you researched more. Now all you have is average names that will more than likely expire in a few years and if you dont let any expire, you just have a $5K+ renewal fee for all your domains coming within the year.

Try and take the advice from some of the people on namepros and stop buying more names, try and sell a few to at least cover some of your renewals fees coming up. If you are getting inquiries between 800$-1500$, sell the names, or try and get a bit more the potential buyers and invest in better names, thats what domaining is all about, try not to be greedy and wait for some big offer that might never come.
