I love those BIN market places offered by some registrars. It's great to wake up to a finalised sale with instant transfer that happened whilst I was asleep. I'm still not getting enough of them, so my first reaction was that I'd undersold it. However a mark up of over 1,000% is something that is beyond the dreams of most retailers. I don't know who bought it, and I didn't have any negotiations - all I know is that the money is going into my account. What a great system. :)

The transaction is instant, so it has already completed. I won't post the name, as you guys will tell me I undersold it ( it was under $250 ). :) It was in the financial services sector, and I suspect that if it is developed, it could recover the purchase price in two or three months. I've had a bit of a change in attitude, and I decided to sell some of my names, as I don't seem to get round to developing most of them. I think I'm a treasure hunter at heart.

Financial services and crypto seem to be the only names I can sell at the moment.

I know how you feel. Happened to me for the first time last Sunday. Woke up to an email from Afternic saying "Congratulations" One of my "Fast Transfer" domains was already out of my account and money to be paid in 7 days (provided I finish giving Afternic the information they need to transfer the money which I did immediately). Hand regged in May 2017, sold for $999. Great feeling!(y)

You made a lot more than I did.

Never mind, I re-invested, so maybe I'll overtake you that way, :)

A sale is a sale, no matter how big..of course as long as a profit was made!

It's especially good on the occasions when it was a name you were planning on letting drop :xf.wink:

Congrats!

I love that system also. I'm thinking i should just all my names pointed to registrars that offer this. It saves time... the buyer pays, money is secured and name is transfered without you lifting a finger.

Congratulations to the sellers. I remember when I sold e-brochures in king. I just received the message that your domain has sold for $499...that's a name I didn't see any value in. I was planning to drop it...and it sold.

The frequency of me checking my emails increased a lot after getting a few such congratulation mails from godaddy.

Congrats on the sale while you were resting money was made! =-D

I like your perspective on the return percentage of the name, I know some of us will think could have sold it higher or if I only had the BIN price higher.

In the end having that type of return on your money is awesome and you can always use any sale you make as motivation to keep going and do better.

I found some new Casino names that had dropped. They are "usable" rather than premium, but I hope they will earn me some Bitcoin. I should really be hunting for some financial names, as they seem to be the ones that sell for me. I suspect that Brexit might start to pick up as well, now that things are moving again there, even if the movement is sideways. :)

Congrats @Kuffy and yeah it's always good to make a sale that way.
Best wishes!

Sounds like a good feeling. I don't often price my domains for BIN so don't get that same rush!

I'm going to start flipping some names, and clearing out some of the non-com TLDs and other I don't want. All will be under $100, and I may even give some away to promote my new blog.

I didn't say all of us would succeed, only that I wanted all of us to succeed. I never wished for anyone to fail. :xf.wink:

I love when you get a price inquiry, such as at Afternic, set your BIN, and then weeks later when you have forgotten all about it, you get the notification that the domain sold.
