Geo for Qatar area.
Did not know how rich Qatar was till the other day.
Knew about the split from the opec while back. Really killed the economy . I know many of my aunts and uncles lost their jobs there.
But now Qatar seems to want to do like dubai and build islands across from their big cities like Jumeirah or "The World" all offshore man made islands .
To create those islands tons of rock and sand will be needed.
But if you already have islands offshore then you have half your work done for you which Qatar has two. Aaliya and Safliyah islands. Google it. Safliyah being the closest one a stone's throw a way. They even have a ferry that goes to it.
You have a spit of land right across one of the richest countries in the Opec world and in 20 years never developed? And it has the best views if the city?

It's a pretty cool shaped island too. Shaped like a manta ray.
And now that this country has shifted focus on tourism and bringing it other revenue like how Saudi Arabia and Dubai brought in real estate investors and beautified their country so that tourist want to visit.
Qatar is already planning for the 2022 world cup.
I think if Qatar became "tax friendly" like Dubai this island would be prime location for luxury property or resorts or hotels.
And yes I know all about Qatar's ties with Iran and north Korea. I guess time to do out bounds.
