I think it was sold to a French TV channel D8... nothing to do with date.

I am surprised they did not go for c8.tv (which I own) ,,especially as they have recently rebranded from d8 to c8.

D8 was rebranded C8 on 5 September 2016. The channel was originally launched in 2012, replacing Direct 8, previously owned by Bollore group.

Can anyone explain that one to me?

you're right the channel D8 no longer exist, now it's C8. "C" stands up for Canal + (group) . I think you will have news from them sooner. good luck.

Well I certainly hope so, as other tv companies have been interested, but only for small amounts.
