Hello everyone,

I have not been following the domain industry lately and so I have the following doubt:

- I have 2 pretty good LLLL.com and wanted to know if this is the best time to sell them or if by staying with them a while longer they will value. In other words, I want to know if LLLL.com is valuing over time or if it is better to sell them now.

Thank you for the clarification.

Regards

depend on how good is your domain and what is your definition of good price....

If your 4L are brandable, then there is no "best time" to sell. You can wait the right buyer.

If they are purely speculative (chips or weird letters) then value is far from what it was a year ago but it is still worth much more than what it was 2 years ago.

OK, I realized that a few months ago it had been good to sell the domains because prices were high.

My question now is if there will be another price increase in the market (in this case I will wait to sell them) or if it is better to sell now because the prices are still high and shouldn't increase in the near future.

What would you do?

No, they will just stabilize, the hype was caused by the Chinese hype machine, which left many Chinese sitting with losses in their accounts, as they faced drops of worthless 5L .com's to boot.

if your names were that good, you would most likely already received thousands of emails of purchase with good offers.

I sold some of my four letter dot com domains for too low a price (low four figures) in February / March, and am being offered much higher prices for my four letters today, including much some higher offers for the exact same four letters I sold six to seven months ago, by people who don't realize I no longer own them!

So much for the theory that four letter prices have dropped. It is possible that prices have dropped for the random nonsensical short letter domains, but not at all for the ones that spell out real words, or have 2 - 3 of the same letters in there.

I still own many dozen four letter dot coms, and several three letters too.

Let me tell you how this works: when you have something that others do not have, those who do not have will often try to convince you that "the market has dropped." Do not listen to them. Hold on to your four letter dot coms they will only go up in value.

A couple of options... start $1 auctions here on NP for them or wait and see what the future holds.

If they are really good you can always sell them, but I don`t think today is the best time to sell good domains.

If you had good short liquid .com's during 2015-2016 you would have received thousands of spam emails looking to buy your liquid domains if they are of high quality as the OP originally spoke of.

My doubt is whether the domain market has a future or whether it is best to sell them now while still worth something.

IMO they seem to be going back down in general(liquid wise).. unless you find a end-user of course.

I think the whole Chinese market hype made them value more than they generally would.

Before the hype, you could get names under $100.. then it went to $150 and then $500+

Now names are $350 and below....

Atleast that's what I observe

I own few llll domains myself...

You can maybe offer it for sale(auction) with reserve if you don't want it to sell it below a certain price.

Though that may discourage bids. Unless the names are as good as you say.

My doubt is whether the domain market has a future or whether it is best to sell them now while still worth something.

The world population is growing consistently so the internet users and businesses on internet too.

There are millions of new businesses coming to action each year.

So if there won`t be a world war 3 or a major economic crises, which is the worse possible scenario, this industry will grow IMO.

Prices are crashing, get out now while you still can and sell them (to me)

Prices have declined rapidly, and it is better to sell some llll.com to reduce renewal expenses

You know the market for 4L.com is going to shit in a hand bag ! right now when you start to receive
Emails from China to unload 200 4l.coms !!
because the Chinese were the buyers who inspired the market in the first place

Example of emails i have been receiving from China lately :
Sell more than 200 four - letter domains at a fixed price
Hello,
As described in the title. If you are interested, please reply and will send a list.
Thanks.

Hang on to them...prices will creep back up in time. Not gonna get crazy again for odd letter combos but for 'good' ones the prices will move up.
