The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
When I search for a domain to buy, if it lists on Uni I'll walk away. Prices are rediculous, and they spam your mailbox.

OP, this is taking too long.. what is happening? You could at least give hint on what stage the deal is at or whether they are still in talks with you.

We received only one message and initial offer from buyer . The message was " we want to buy your domain name " . but they are not replying anymore to broker .

Sorry... Doesnt sound good. I've had many dozens of those too. I've even had buyers say "I want to purchase your domain name for $X" and even with their price named, they never reply after I accept or counter.

It happens, thats why i don't give a serious thought after first inquiry, I just counter and if there is second response than its a genuine case. Some times buyers have this habit to stay calm far delaying replies as well.

$12000 is a great opening offer for a 12L brandable domain.

If you have not heard back, and depending on the counter, likely chance that offer has been spent elsewhere.

My one concern is that uni has many options to put leads into if your budget name does not fit into that buyers price needs, this has always been a concern, and I have seen it in some earlier broker emails between the buyer/broker that were open.

In last few months, I have had nearly 300 inquiries on Uniregistry on my 300+ domains there but not even a SINGLE sale. The uniregistry "buyers" rarely respond, only 1-2 that I know. GoDaddy/Sedo work fine and almost every "buyer" there responds as a real user.

I had two recent offers of $100k on two of my top domains (see sig) where the buyers have gone quiet after making the offers. This happens a lot at Uniregistry so don't get too excited when you see a big offer there. It may be just FAKE. Uniregistry needs to work on this else they can become FakeOffers.com

His offer came in thru a broker many times this could be MarkMonitor/SafeNames etc... who choose to cut to the chase with the brokers directly.

Few end-users are willing and able to jump on a $175K offer. You cannot expect a high closing rate with those price expectations. It's certainly possible to sell a name in that price range, but you're most likely going to turn away and say no to a dozen end-users who are not willing to pay that much before one that does comes along.

Besides, if you got this offer just 3 days ago, it seems premature to conclude that the buyer has "gone quiet". Offer-counter offer negotiations take time, often weeks, sometimes months, and they seldom close within 3 days. $175K is serious money for a company to put down, and such expenditures have to go through various approval processes first. Just because the buyer hasn't responded yet or committed to putting down $175K for the name 3 days within your price quote doesn't mean it's a fake offer.

I understand all that however my post is not about just these 2 offers, those are just recent examples. I am mentioning the state of affairs in general at Uniregistry.

Then it give credence to the fact that unireg are the ones making those offers.

That may be the case as well, at least in some of the cases.
I asked the Unireg guys if it was their competitors who were sending all the fake inquiries on their platform, they replied that fake inquiries don't benefit anyone and that it's just a lot of "confused" people making those inquiries. This response confused me though. :)

For some of my domains, I use efty.com for landing pages.
They charge a small fee per month and no commission.

I have sold lots via Afternic, SEDO, buydomains, and via my own website xynames.com Nothing via Uniregistry this year.

The same happened to me. Buyer just left a message "I want to buy your domain for $35k" which i have listed at $50k BIN. After that broker contacted him more than 3 months frequently since he is not responding. All are absolutely fake. I faced lot of happenings like this while i was listing my domains at uniregistry.
