Domain Sherpa is the reason why I've become a domainer.

Honestly I am very sad to read that article today.

All I feel like saying right now is Thank you Michael !
I hope I can shake your hand one day at a conference.

Very sad, I hope at least the content will remain accessible.

Michael does state in his letter that all his content and sites will remain active. Just no new content. (which makes since - those videos will continue to bring revenue for years to come. I don't see him taking those down)

It is just Michael retiring the DomainSherpa videos and his active involvement in his sites, and he states in his letter he still has a nice domain portfolio.

I really like Michael. Really nice guy. I only get to chat with him at Namescon, but he is always interesting to talk with.

Thanks Michael for producing great content! I will miss the show!

Not going anywhere. Just not recording the show
I'm going to miss watching you and the rest of the guys, it was a great show and apart from learning a lot from it, often made me laugh and put a big smile on my face.
Thanks Shane for your great contribution.

I don't think this is the end of DomainSherpa. Remembering that Mike posted an notice that DomainSherpa need a Program Director 2 months ago. I think he just relax and prepare his plans in the future. Maybe there will be a new version of Sherpa's shows with new faces. Stay tuned :)

DomainSherpa.com was one of the very first resources I stumbled upon when I started investing in domain names four years ago and was crucial in inspiring and motivating me in my journey as an investor. I was stoked to have my small portfolio reviewed in one of the weekly reviews when I first started out and I was proud and honoured to return several years later as a guest on the show to share some of my strategies and tactics around brandable domain name investing.

If you only knew half of how much work and preparation Mike puts into a single show you would be completely baffled by the fact that he produced 404(!) show during the past years. Anyone that is starting out in our industry today that discovers the soon to be DomainSherpa archives will find the ultimate treasure trove for domainers and is able to binge-watch hundreds of hours of the very best content in the industry.

Thank you, Michael, and thank you, all the guests that have contributed over the years, sharing their strategies and tactics.

any idea if another guy will continue the show or domainsherpa will be stopped?
There certainly could be another show with a new cast but I doubt it will be DomainSherpa. That is Mike's and as long as Mike is retired it will run in syndication for eternity.

Is it because of Rick Schwartz?

I remember him tweeting about Michael saying he will go after his sponsors and few months later show comes to an end.

I am really sorry to hear this.

I doubt anyone will fill the void. Not much money in doing a video show as the work vs advertisers isn't worth doing for most busy people. Add in the people that are cruel in their comments and its a tough gig. It certainly can be done again but nobody in this space has the right personality and/or time to pull it off right now IMO. There's only one Michael Cyger

Don't even try to spread that rumor. Advertisers want him to stay. It is one of the last true forms of original content in our space. Schwartz being an ass just made it easier

It's like a TopGear situation, sort of, where it simply won't be the same, it might be great, but not the same.
I'm happy for him, plus it takes some balls to call it quits when you have such a large and loyal following, but I'm confident that his next adventures will be as successful, regardless of what it is, he's just that kind of guy I believe.

I don`t have any reason to spread such rumor. I just wonder is this why he is ending his show?

I have stand against Rick on namePros because of his threats to Michael and had an argument with him.

You know as a fan of Domain Sherpa and a daily user of namePros and knowing about what is going on in our industry, this is what I sensed.

P.S It is not only the advertisers who want him to stay. :xf.wink:
