sales Sedo Sells WMP.com for $275,000

Spaceship Spaceship
In 2017 we have seen many six-figure sales for three-letter .COM's. LEV.com, DCC.com and BMT.com are just three of the eleven six-figure sales that NameBio has recorded this year. The attraction of three-letter .COM's to established businesses means that we continue to see impressive sales.

Yesterday, Sedo released the news that the three-letter domain WMP.com was sold through their platform for a total of $275,000. This domain was owned by a Norweigan company called Wika Media Productions, who also own and operate WMP.no.

Headed by guitarist and digital media entrepreneur Oystein Wika, Wika Media Productions has used WMP.com since 2003, according to archived copies of the domain's website. It's likely that thanks to Chinese interest in three-letter .COM's, Oystein has received many five-figure offers in recent years but has never been persuaded to sell.

That is until a $275,000 price was agreed via Sedo's marketplace in a deal that may have been brokered by Sedo.

As of writing, WMP.com is sitting in Sedo's eNom account awaiting a move to its new owner. It's currently unknown who paid $275,000 for this domain.

This sale will chart at number thirteen on DNJournal's Top 100 Sales of 2017, just behind the $280,000 deal for 3W.com. This is also the second largest publicly disclosed sale of a three-letter .COM this year, beating LEV.com, which sold for $200,000.
