As a large .travel investor, with sales in aftermarket around 100.000$ last year I am interested in community opinion related to .travel

They just re-launch after the 10th years anniversary, seems most countries and regions use it as official toursim website, germany.travel, russia.travel, alabama.travel, ibiza.travel, colombia.travel....

Here the press note I found,

New .travel website open to Everyone in Travel: Celebrating 10 years

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Having first launched on October 3, 2005, .travel is now the chosen domain name for dozens of country tourism portals, as well as for businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to improve their visibility in the active travel segment of the Internet.

TRMC, the .travel Registry, is pleased to announce the launch of its new and completely redesigned Registry website, travel.travel. The re-launch of the .travel site marks the successful completion of ten years of domain name service to the travel industry and announces the start of a new phase of support and services for .travel registrants. Just go to travel.travel/testimonials/ to see how a .travel name has helped our registrants.

A .travel domain name is available to everyone who provides services, products or content in or to the travel industry. New travel startups are welcome, and that includes every new travel content provider. Our simplified eligibility review is showcased at http://www.travel.travel/obtain-uin/. For no charge, you can get an approved Member Number immediately that will allow you to register your .travel domain names with any of our 45 registrars.

Our new website shows the value that our registrants achieve in visibility, identity and name selection, especially important now in a world with over 1,000 top level domains vying for attention. Our relaunched website is the core of .travel support and services on social media, as well as for our newly-launched multi-lingual online chat, registrar support, blog and newsletter.

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and on other social media, or visit our site to watch for new promotions, partners and services to be launched in coming months.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It was an special great month for me in relation to .travel, also for offers, one from Singapore was very interesting but finally not accepted. Question is, I own around 100 .travel and I invest around 15-20% of my sales in new manual registrations always. My last 3 sales this month, around 8000$ are 3 manual regs. about 250$. Is a great ROI, and is like this since 2013 to sum up to 100.000$ with .travel sales.

If you have only one...well, it's different, anyway, I recomend undeveloped.com, is generating good leads for me in last times.

It's funny, really, all your 54 messages on Namepros related to this thread :) As I understand .travel registry hired you to promote them or you are from their staff? :)

I checked namebio and most expensive .travel ever sold was internet.travel for $11,400 and I think even reg fee is too much for this extension and domain, it is funny how you made $100,000 just for 3 years :)

My first .travel sale was Dec. 2014. Yes it's funny to make "up" to 100.000$ with .travel ...do you know key "up"? and it seems is close to 2 years, not 3 :) As I said I use to buy and sale .com too in range 5.000 - 25.000 but .travel are nice ones for me.

Do you think internet.travel is the top sale?? hahahaha, the top reported, belive me.

Not my 54 messages (55 with this one) are related to this thread, but yes, my interest is about .travel and it's not going bad for me :) I opened the threat I maintain the threat, I like to read about .pro, about .club, about...and yes, I write here about .travel, if you don't like don't read.

After all, if you feel I am promoting, well, I am only reporting my sales and some news around .travel..as large owner, of course I have interest on it...but for sure is interesting for community.

And finally, please go out, cleary you are not interested on this threat, do not waste your time.

best wishes, and good luck on your sales

note: please, do not quote me anymore...I know it could be an effort for you, but, I will be very thankful (here or in other threat :) ), understand I am a newbie, only 11 years inside domains industry...I will check your threats from my own to learn, do not need your replies. Thanks !

Dot Travel has relaunched and now more people are able to register a .travel domain. We sat down with Byron Henderson and he answered questions about the .Travel extension.

An interview with Byron Henderson on the .travel relaunch

The advantage of being a preferred extension by official tourism boards allows us to appear in privileged spaces: airports, TV stations, major sporting events. Each year there are many good examples, but one famous case was the tennis match between stars Djokovic and Nadal playing at Perito Moreno, the wonderful destination in Patagonia. Over the court, in constant view of the global audiences, was the domain name Argentina.travel.

Another of mine:

STL
.TRAVEL

The longer <ST LOUIS> version is owned by the city of St Louis, but they didn't have the foresight to pick up the common abbreviation (as you can see Atlanta did with ATL).

I have eight .travel's now. Time to get some websites up and running soon. Anyone get around to that yet with theirs?

In 2011, we – a team of Dutch innovators – joined forces with a Swiss investor with the aim of connecting cities, museums and their stories with travellers who wanted to explore the world in a brand new, innovative way: via a global, open and free platform. A bit like Facebook or Wikipedia. Although this idea wasn’t anything new, no-one had yet done it on such a large and ambitious scale […]

¿How and when you met .travel and decided to work with us? What has been your evolution?

It has been a natural evolution; a passion for travel and the dedication to deliver services that exceed expectations can also be captured with .travel. We have registered various domain names to protect our online name but nothing defines the business we’re in more than the .travel extension.

It allow us to incorporate the domain to the brand and is by far the best solution for the travel industry.

Only to say that as the euro / dollar exchange is 0.83 / 1. The registration for a .travel domain for example in galcomm, which has them at 89 $ (see http://www.galcomm.com/domain/dottravel/) is = to a nice 73 €.

enjoy :)
